By BOTH sides? Nonsense. The only promises that need to be made are by Mirallas. He's a very lucky boy not to be on the transfer list already. Ferguson or even Allardyce would have him up the road immediately. An apology to everyone, and a public apology to supporters, and he has an outside chance of saving his Everton career, whether he wants it or not. Let him go and play Billy Big Bollocks somewhere else.

I understand your fume mate, but in all honesty nobody knows the reason why he took it or what conversations took place between the players.

If it's been dealt with in house then there is no need for a public apology IMO, let it die in the water as long as the players have sorted between themselves.

If he did for personal gain then allow RM to sort that out. After the game the club should have done a media blackout and refused interviews in relation to the incident until it was resolved

A word out of place at OT and your career there was over(Stam, etc)

There was a time when this was true, years ago.

However, times change and the modern game has evolved (not for the better) by the ridiculous levels of money involved nowadays.

Just look at how Rooney treated Utd a few years back, flirting with Man City and chelsea, publicly criticising the club. Was he told to get on his bike? On the contrary, Ferguson practically begged him to stay and doubled his wage.

These days, there are so many multi-millionaire prima donna overpaid 20 somethings, all led to believe they're bigger than their clubs by agents etc. Managers (including Ferguson pre retirement) realise that you can't kick someone out every time they have an ego trip, or you'd isolate yourself from half of the market.

If mirallas apologised to the manager and players, then give the lad another chance.

I think refusing interviews would have looked worse. Martinez and Naismith both handled it brilliantly from a PR perspective. There is no reason for Mirallas' actions apart from personal gain. Two players told him to give the ball to Baines and Baines was cornered into letting Mirallas take the penalty, or cause an unseemly ruckus on the pitch for everyone to see. Sometime, somewhere ,clubs have to make a stand against players who think they can please themselves..with big wages comes a big responsibility...and Mirallas came very close to bringing the club that pays his wages into disrepute. A media blackout would have suggested that the incident had escalated 'behind closed doors' and the club, through Naismith and Martinez, have managed to give the media nothing to build a story round, thus difusing the situation for public consumption. I think it will be or already has been dealt with, and Mirallas will be gone in the summer.

Like I said, nobody knows. I'm not defending his actions but it will have been dealt with, and only those behind scenes know. Maybe we will sooner or later.

With regards to the interview, I've seen many a manger shut up shop when there has been.a contentious issue. And I felt sorry for naismith for the situation he was put in, clearly he was arguing with him and it was obvious the questions would be about that and not the game.

The media where always going to concentrate on this incident, it wouldn't have made any difference if we interviewed or not, but considering the questions that we knew would be asked, I would have no media contact for a good couple of days.

But there just my opinions.
