As for the pen, I'd have been fuming if that had been given. So so soft and considering we get zero in return I would have been apoplectic. Incidentally the ref was excellent for once. But to claim mirallas almost cost us is way off the mark.

Oh yeah, we were owed that. I'd still not want it to happen again though.

Mirallas: useful off the bench, but I'd never start him. His head's all wrong, imo.

I'll admit mate I am extremely biased lol. But i genuinely don't see the consistency regarding spot kicks. I'm not even a mirallas fan tbh but I was happy he had at least seemed to have some hunger for it tonight. That's a start with him, cause if hes right mentally he has plenty of ability
 
I think that Stones moved to right back far more than Mirallas did.

KM did alright, but there just seems to be something missing from when he was at his best , maybe different formation, maybe lack of confidence, but definitely something.

Lack of match practice, needs to play on the left in front of Baines with Delboy on the other flank!
 
Fully agree - that he is streets better than Osman and is much better playing on the left -
just glad he got a run - in all fairness he deserves it

He actually had me worried last night.
Aside from the penalty (we would have been fuming if that hadn't been given to us) he just always seemed a bit prone to doing a Swansea lunge
But man, he's beautiful to watch driving forward.
Hope he gets 90 minutes in the cup this weekend.

I think Mirallas is extremely talented and should be one of the first off the bench. Having said that, he is his own worst enemy and isn't in a good place mentally. He probably should have come on tonight.

to be fair, he is the kind of player who would try something silly and lose the ball.

pienaar and kone are much better at holding up the ball and osman just fit the system better with cleverley not there. going there with two wingers would have probably seen us leave empty handed.

lennon's a similar type of player and he didn't come on either and i'd say he's better than kone and pienaar as well.
