Kevin Mirallas

Suarez had real bad attitude - but the moment he left Liverpool they became a mediocre team -
Costa has equally bad attitude - the moment he stopped wanting to play for Mourino Chelsea became a bottom half team -
Mirallas does not come close to those 2 as far as bad attitude is concerned , but since Martinez decided for whatever reason he is not good enough for an Everton start we have been languishing in the bottom half of the table -
great talent with bad attitude requires exceptional management not punishment -
Mirallas did nothing wrong on Saturday - give credit when credit is due - he has scored 25 goals for us since 2012/13 -many more than anyone picked ahead of him -
Martinez has very few excuses to bench him from now on
Nor does Mirallas come close to the two mentioned above as far as ability is caused.
Let's be honest if Saurez played for Everton every single little nibble he took or any racist comment or innuendo that some commentators with an anti-Everton bias would be immediately forgiven by the Everton faithful.
Costa may look like a machete wielding cocaine fuelled lunatic, but he would be our machete wielding etc.

Mirallas has not done enough and is not good enough for all Evertonians to overlook his misdemeanours.

I'd like to think we'd not be brushing what that little rodent did under the rug.

I hope he keeps the form up for the next few games, then I hope we're smart enough to sell him before he goes into his inevitable sulk and does sod all for another six months.

If we play our cards right, we can mug a club off for £10m.
Mirallas's problem before Martinez was never sulking as much as it was injury. He would pull a hamstring every other game. Under Moyes he never really had any conduct problems.

Nobody has ever doubted his quality, its his effort and consistency that people question.

If he played each week with the commitment and desire he played with on Saturday he would be one of the first names on the team sheet. Its no good having 1 great game then not turning up for the next 3 or having a 13 minute spell of brilliance but going missing for the other 77.

Against Liverpool a couple of years ago when Rom (I think) got injured, he was outstanding and took on responsibility and I thought something had finally clicked in him. But he is very hit and miss.

Perhaps - that was three years ago now though mate. When do you a draw a line?

If we got a good fee for him at this point I'd be over the moon. He simply cannot be relied upon, and in a supposedly developing young side like this, that is an inexcusable trait for a senior player.

Was that when he nailed Suarez? Great that.

What's he actually done/said that's been so bad?

In the three league games he's started this season, he's been very good. He came on and played well vs Leicester.

Other than that, and due to his stupidity with a red card, he hasn't played much due to tactics really and the manager refusing to use more than 2 subs per-game/preferring another option (e.g. trying to close a game out).

You'd think he'd spat in a fans' face and kicked the groundsman's head in by the sounds of some people.

I honestly don't believe that we would have behaved any differently than our neighbours did when he was there , hopefully , the club itself would have acted with a bit more dignity and restraint that Liverpool FC did but I think the supporters would be the same.

I understand your point and I'm not necessarily arguing as much as I am wondering if the conduct issue can be fixed. Maybe he is finally starting to understand what is required of him, and if he is he is definitely a benefit to the squad. I understand that is also a risk, and it wouldn't be crazy if we sold him (for a good deal).

He certainly hasn't done anything bad. I have two main problems with him.

1. I think his comments publicly are ill judged and don't help his cause with the club, manager or some of the fanbase.

2. I think that he underperforms too often. I think that if you were scoring Kevin over a run of games he probably would get an average of 6/10. That would include some games when he might get an 8 or a nine but also games where he would get a 3 or a 4. If he had a little less opinon of his ownability and worked harder to bring his average up to about an eight overall he could be a top top player with a value in excess of 20m.
I think he believes he is the 8/10 player without delivering often enough.

Haha FFS mate I've been trying to forget about that night.

I know, me too but i thought after that night that he's finally adding a work ethic to his talent. I know he's had injuries but no player deserves to play based on qulity alone, he needs to have the right attitude to match.

He deserves to start against Swansea, so leta see if we get another performance out of him then.
