Shame we bottled it. 70 minutes to not concede 3. We conceded 3 though didn't we? Of course we did.

Managers job to instil consistency.

Shame the consistency is all negatives.

Not pin the blame on Lukaku after today's game, with his "Captain" following suit. Ridiculous shout.

So it's the fans fault for not tolerating cheating? Interesting.

It's a symptom of his setup.

At 2-0 today, with 10 min, 60+ minutes, we had 4 of the 9 outfield players in their penalty area.

That style, the style Martinez insists on will piss away goals.

You credit Martinez to building the best squad we've had for a very long time, but then say they're all bottlers/no leaders...

He's spent a fortune, why hasn't he signed leaders? Why is Jagielka still his captain?

Sorry mate, but you're losing credibility in my opinion, Martinez is teflon to you and I'm now reading your posts as though they're satire/WUM - only way I can comprehend it.

I'm being entirely consistent through a blizzard of nonsense that meets every reversal of this nature. You have to have an overview of the manager and not react to every 90 minute like it's a trial he has to be found innocent of. It's unfair 'analysis', which is why it's all stuff that is never registered by the people at the club who make hiring and firing decisions. The man has a contract to roll out his vision. If he gets it wrong or is not a success then he pays for it. So how about there's some advocacy of that instead of a lynch mob after his players fail to stand up like men in the final minutes of a game?

You talk about credibility, I think that's arguing your case and viewpoint clearly and not deviating for every setback. Lack of credibility on this managerial question s not mine. I look at others and see them shift ground week in week out. That's lacking in credibility. But, of course, I'll get called a WUM because I wont give ground on my support and loyalty to a manager I regard as a good one.

Davek doesn't even believe what he is saying. He's just gone so far out with his support for Martinez that he can't admit he's wrong now.

IF you truly believe the manager managed the game correctly today then you are very wrong. Fair Lukaku's missed peno didn't help, but putting up two strikers whilst down to 10 men was a ludicrous decision.

He might have a defence for blaming Lukaku if it hadn't happened 4-5 times already this season.

Basically GOT is a collection of wind up merchants, and people who react to wind up merchants.

I've got a foot in both camps, so life is good.

On topic with Mirallas though, there's no way back surely? Even if you're a fan of his for some bloody reason, even you'd think it'd be best for all concerned if he moved on in the summer.
I'd say Martinez has done more harm in his time here than Mirallas has. I know who I'd ship out first.

Reacting after what will be 3 seasons, a long time in football.

Also wry smile at you advocating the board here.

Anyway, this is the Mirallas thread...

Build the best squad, results say that's not true , we might have a good collection of players but we arnt a good team, results don't lie.
As for this so called good football , often its sterile , boring and the crowd don't buy it.
The man is building a myth around this team to save his skin, needs to go, don't care if we even win the cup I want him out of here , being a nice fella isn't all that's needed to manage us, and he hasn't got the tools to do it.
Need to get kev out of the club as well, hasn't the brain to be a top player or the right attitude.

1-- Do you agree that Martinez pulled off a tactical masterstroke at the start of the match?

2-- Mirallas (who alot of people have used as a stick to beat Martinez with) was a total disgrace and its his 3rd strike under Martinez now (not including his inferviews in belgium)

3--Hes then brought on Besic and had to adjust his tactics once again a masterstroke.

4-- With ten men we should be 3-0 up but for Lukakus poor penalty. Bilic also said if that went in we would have won by 3-0 possibly 4-0. Martinez makes the same statement and is then once again insulted on here.

5-- Lennon was shattered. Who does he bring on? Barry whose sick and probably only good for a few mins in an emergency? Deulofeu whose young and developing and could lose the ball in key areas...Baines who is injured OR Niasse whose meant to be good at holding up the ball and at the very least gives Wham a defensive issue as they have to leave players back rather than just lukaku.

6-- Mori can head clear but hes adapting and developing. If he could do everything now hed be at barca already. Coleman out of position which has never been his strong point even under Moyes. Also the John Stones option wasnt there as hes had to be brought off thanks to mirallas

7-- No way would Martinez have predicted that. All that could go wrong did go wrong...he would never have expected Niasse to put in a 0/10 performance or the individual errors.

It was Martinez tactics which should have made it 3-0 and as Bilic said, an unassailable lead.

We are a young developing team. If we had scored the penalty and won today EVERYONE on here would be saying it was a tactical masterclaas....due to individuals it wasnt the case

Other games like Norwich and Bournemouth we should have been miles ahead on goals jut chances were missed.....as for City we hd major ref errors there and again should have scored more 1st leg. Chelsea we were robbed. Its a pattern of developing players and bad luck.

How @davek is on a wind up is beyond me...its all rational.

I just find it amazing that people think a manager can come in after Moyes and reshape the entire culture of the club as well as the entire squad in such a short period of time.

Its so obvious players need time to develop, you just need to look at Barkley and Lukaku last season and this...i totally disagree with you on Stones and think he will step up a level next season also.

These young lads dont hit their prime for 5+ seasons and the u2s probably need a year or two as well. On top of tht he needs specific players ro match his style and with the money he has been given he has bought amazing quality and massive potential.

Now we finally have money we get the finch farm housing 3 years later than he wanted it, this coming summer. We also have a new major shareholder who (as he is clearly a visionary himself) has bought into the grand plan.

My only worry is that this summer Martinez doesnt strengthen ALL the areas needed. Before i thought we needed a GK / RB / DM / CM / LW / CF over the next two summer windows but now looking at some fans total impatience when something special is being created i really hope he can at least get at least 4 of those positions filled with quality u23 players to continue building our core.

As for Mirallas hes a total disgrace and after the penalty, red card after beig given another chance and a new contract and again today given another chance he absolutely betrays the team, the squad, the manager and the fans...not to mention himself as effectivelt hes not going to the euros now.

i have a feeling Naismith fans turned on martinez as they liked naismiths effort....now mirallas fans whove been complaining all season have turned on martinez as well as golden boy (golden bentley) has done this today and subconciously they blame martinez even seeing lukaku scolding him as soon as he did it.

Jagielka should have had a word with him but hes a passive captain whose captain armband was given to him by moyes as he was leaving. We will start seeing big changes this summer.

As soon as Mirallas got that first yellow card I could see this red card incoming a mile off.

The lad is reckless, seems to be more so when he feels hard done by with having not played much. He carries too much anger on the pitch and lets it overpower his sense. I'm all for a naughty tackle here and there but on a yellow he shouldn't even be sliding for balls like that

His issue is his ego.

He dived not to win a foul. He dived because his first touch was heavy and he probably feels embarrassed to lose the ball as such. His mindset is never to chase for possession after losing it.

His second yellow card is definitely a blatant foul and I have no idea why he bothers to throw in such a tackle.

Please stop playing him.

1-- Do you agree that Martinez pulled off a tactical masterstroke at the start of the match?
I wouldn't call it a masterstroke. Barry was apparently feeling unwell so Martinez started Stones in his place. In hindsight I could say that he should have started Besic, but I won't.

2-- Mirallas (who alot of people have used as a stick to beat Martinez with) was a total disgrace and its his 3rd strike under Martinez now (not including his inferviews in belgium)
3rd strike? That's only his second red card with us, ever. The same record as Gareth Barry... shall we get rid of him too?

3--Hes then brought on Besic and had to adjust his tactics once again a masterstroke.
Possibly yes. Alternatively, Besic should have been on from the start and circumstance has forced Martinez to rectify his earlier mistake? Either way, Besic had a great game.

How @davek is on a wind up is beyond me...its all rational.
Even @GrandOldTeam has pulled him up on it. He's WUMming. Accept it.

Anyway, we're going off topic. This is a Mirallas thread, not a "defend Martinez at all costs" one.

Barry is a defensive midfielder, it's a hazard of the job. Mirallas is a sullen, ego-driven forward, who was given the chance that a confusing amount of people on here wanted him to get, and he responds by getting two of the stupidest yellow cards in the 34th minute.

And it's still Martinez' fault.
