Personally believe there is quite a lot of evidence that Moyes never trusted Ross defensively and wouldn't have played him anywhere near enough to develop him.

I also think Moues would have run out of patience with Kev quite a long time ago and if anything alienated him even earlier and Rom would have gone mad running the channels but unless we slip down a different trouser of time we'll never really know.

Yeah it's possible although Moyes signed Kev and was performing but his head could've gone under him too. Ross could've done with bossing it in the championship in Bobby's first season too I feel. He did well but was very inconsistent. Although maybe that faith has brought him to where he is now. Probably if truth be told.

Aye the safe thing to do with Ross that season would probably have been to send him on loan again, think the fact he didn't and he got an awful lot of game time (over 2600 mins all comps) accelerated his development massively and increased his self confidence in a similar manner.

Anyhow, will be interesting to see how Kev does on international break - haven't got the impression that Wilmots likes him that much tbh and he infuriatingly seems to rarely play Kev and Rom together!
