1st 60 mins last night he was as a bad as a pro footballer could be, then suddenly woke up ,chased everything down and looked like the old kev. (head problems more than fitness issues)

He's the epitome of a confidence player. I hate the term but he really is, and if he had scored that goal late on it would have done him the world of good.

Clevs not even being in the squad yesterday suggests to me that he will play on Sunday, or Lennon will anyway if not. Kev will be on the bench.

Cleverley left side Lennon right side mate will start for certain against S'land

I don't think he's anywhere near as good as some of you lot make out.

He's a decent little player, but our best? No chance.

When he's on his game he is one of only a few players we have who can create something/score a goal in the blink of an eye. When he's not on his game he can be as average as they come.

That's why he plays for us and not arsenal/Utd etc

I think it'll be Del on the right mate. Even Martinez wouldn't be that negative.

Cleverley on the left if fit. Lennon if not or even Naismith (shudders).

Think it'll be a very frustrating game on Sunday and not confident we'll be able to break them down. Games like this is where we need a real playmaker and we haven't got one.

No chance mate, not after playing 120 minutes last night, and with Lennon not ever being used, think both Del and Mirallas will be on the bench to be used from 60mins on if the game needs changing - which on current form and with Tim in goal probably will be needed

We need a playmaker for sure, Barkley hasn't got the vision for it atm, and much improved though he has been still takes way to long to decide what to do, the bit at the end of extra time last night kinda of showed that perfectly - a simple square ball and Lukaku taps it home

Needs a run of games, better than all of our other wide players. If we want to break down these teams in the next run of games we need him in form.

I think with Del only coming on at 60, he should start. An hour under his belt is fine, and he's got 5 days to 'recover'.

Agree with the rest.

Howard (unfortunately)

Coleman - Stones - Mori - Galloway

McCarthy - Barry

Del - Barkley - Cleverley/Lennon

Lukaku

Subs: Robles, Oviedo, Kone, Mirallas, Lennon/Cleverley, Naismith, Osman

I actually think he's a lot more effective playing in a free-role behind the striker than out wide. He does link up well with Rom.

Me too, he's just never going to get the chance to play there so I don't get my hopes up.

Would really like to see us go 442 for home games with Mirallas as a second striker, think he'd score loads.

Ahhh dunno why was thinking Deulofeu played the full game ... maybe so then actually

Part of me wants to see just how different we look with McCarthy and Cleverley playing centrally though, just think at home to Sunderland we shouldn't be needing to play two out and out defensive midfielders anymore

Same mate, as @Saint Domingo said I'd love to see us partnering Mirallas up top with Rom further down the line this season - at home to teams we really should be beating... with Barkley deeper alongside McCarthy and Cleverley on the left, Del on the right.

But for now I think there's nothing wrong with Barry playing. Just further down the line, we do need to mix things up a bit and I reckon that's one of the ways to go without a real 'playmaker' in the team.

I don't myself mind Barry playing, i don't mind Mccarthy playing, but not both at the same time - especially in a home game - and even more so against a poor team that's not going to try to play through the middle but just lump it up and from out wide into the box mate
