I don't myself mind Barry playing, i don't mind Mccarthy playing, but not both at the same time - especially in a home game - and even more so against a poor team that's not going to try to play through the middle but just lump it up and from out wide into the box mate

I don't mind them at the same time depending on the game. But at home against teams we should be beating, then yeh, I'd mix things up a bit.

His performance last night showed why he doesn't get an automatic spot. He's one of our most talented players but he goes missing far too often. There are times when he contributes very little to the team and that is why despite people disagreeing with it, grafters like Naismith and to an extent Lennon are chosen ahead of him.

I think Martinez dun goofed with his attempt to humble Mirallas. If we weren't so low on players with his particular skillset, I would understand the benching. Mirallas has not responded well to the situation, and that ultimately falls on Martinez. If we had this guy playing well in some of those games he slotted Naismith in, you might see more positive results.

For the record I think Mirallas has been a titty baby, but we need this titty baby to score goals.

Interesting that some pictures of the game last night being shown on the everton social media accounts of the goal show the players celebrating ossie's goal ,but kev just looks down to the floor and jogs back to the half way line. Hope it's just the way some photos show people at the wrong time, i want our old kev back!!!!

This could be the case I fear. Kev may just be that guy you need to constantly tell him how good he is, he may not respond to the "tough love" that Bobby's been trying to give him. Regardless, he's a must start, for me, in these next few games. Need to get him going.

Sounds odd given it was his assist, it's not like he had nothing to do with the build up

I'd like to see Kevin behind Lukaku and Barkley in the holding role so he can work on his overall game. That way we can keep our defensive winger (Lennon) on the pitch while adding another goal scoring threat to the lineup. I think Barkley has everything it takes to play the holding role; he just needs to work on his mentality and decision making.

Martinez has too much respect for Barry to drop him from the lineup though. I think Barry is solid, but he is holding back this team's potential. Sometimes you have to drop the old fart just to let a young team grow, no matter how good he has been. If things go horribly wrong, you could always put old reliable back into the lineup. I'd like to see Bessie get some minutes every now and again as well.

To be fair I think his attitude at the minute is warranted as he's not getting many minutes to prove himself and I bet one of the conditions he signed his new deal was that he'd play more. The Norwich game was the perfect platform for him to show the manager he deserves a regular spot and he let himself down.

He's a confidence player though and I think we need to give him 5+ games in a row before we see anything like Kev at his best which if he does sovles our left-side problems and will help us score more goals.

Lots of the smaller clubs in the league and maybe a spurs that loves a punt should be alerted to this one. Way to many substandard players in the league play week in week out for him to warm the bench.
