Pretty sure that he is going to seriously tear a team apart soon, looks like the penny has finally dropped that he's screwed unless he really plays well and grabs any chance he gets

If he was training with the U21s I'd understand but he's getting on the pitch, he just hasn't looked in form bar the last game. Not like he's frozen out or anything.
He'll come good.
I don't doubt his ability. But will his chance actually come?
For his chance to come he'll either have to have a stormer against Boro or someone will have to get injured or go crap. Neither of which is ideal as our league form is decent right now.
Up to him I guess.
totally up to him mate, he has the ability without doubt, now he has to show he can turn that on when he gets the opportunity, with Naismith, Kone and Deulofeu this season so far Martinez has shown 1 thing for sure - that if you perform outstanding given a chance you will get a run in the team from that
In his time here Martinez has only been hugged three times by our players celebrating a goal - one by Rom vs Chelsea and twice by Mirallas, Spurs away last season and iirc Villa at home the year before. The journalist Kristoff Teurrer who seems well informed on Belgian players also said that Martinez almost doted on Kev and Rom.Quite possibly. Never really got a strong sense that Martinez likes him all that much - he's far more of an individual than a team player, which doesn't suit us at all.
Impact sub/good squad player seems to be his role for the foreseeable. If that's still the case next summer he'll probably be off, which is understandable for all concerned.

So there apparently was a good relationship at one point, hard to know on the outside if it went wrong but relations did seem to change after the penalty incident.
Hopefully it can be restored if it has been broken as Kev on form is great to see, we could especially do with his skill at free kicks at the moment.
Ha, was thinking Arsenal and somehow that morphed into typing Chelsea because Rom was still on loan!Hah, I really meant in the sense of Kev's playing style but that's a great bit of observation, although I think the Rom hug was when we beat Arsenal 3-0.
I expect player-manager relationships will inevitably sour depending on selection but the WBA game did seem like something of a turning point for the worse. Did that come before or after Kev came on and played a blinder against WHU in the cup? I can't remember.
Sort of agree on that one, except that a player has to do a job which is useful to the team and fits in with the style/formation we are playing. Kone has linked play together well his season as well as scoring goals.
Most talented player in the entire squad, its an utter joke that he sits on the bench while Kone attempts to play football.
