You know when you leave the house and you just have a nagging feeling you’ve left the oven on or a window open.

He’s going to leave for work in the morning and then go ‘oh shiiiit I forgot to replace Richarlison!’

The business has been done later than we would have liked for sure.

And yes, I think we would all liked to have seen a TRUE Richarlison replacement and another attacking option.

But as somebody said, since Jan we have bought a whole new defence and a whole new midfield. The squad was never getting "fixed" in 2 windows.

We just have to hope we have enough to stay Midtable whilst giving our very young squad the time it needs to "grow".

For me our biggest issue, creativity, hasnt been addressed, for me our whole season rests on how many games we can get Dom on the pitch.

But overall, I'm pleased with what we have done.

I’m impressed mate, every signing I’ve liked, there’s something even in McNeil, even if he’s the current whipping boy.

The likes of Vinagre, are improvement as backups.

Coady, Onana have been excellent.

Just hope the good work is overshadowed by the lateness. We gambled on DCL, and it’s backfired, but I really like the Thelwell/Lampard combination.

Can't see what Dwight McNeil offers this team (at all) esp vs a forward. Have only watched him a handful of times, desperate to be wrong.
Likewise an older Idrissa Gueye, but commitment work rate was OK before.
Maupay was a surprise... never exactly prolific, let's see.

So no, I don't think they're done great in this window - but we do at least have the right kinda of character now in Defence and MF I hope. Just can't see the goals to keep us far from bottom 3.

Realistically, anything we get from having DCL on the pitch probably comes off Maupay's totals, in part.

We got 13 goals from behind the forwards last season - 15 if you count Iwobi, who is now playing further back. We're going to need another team effort like that to score enough if we don't get the production up top. Time to start drilling set pieces, boys.
