It definitely feels like we’re playing the short game. Frustrating but understandable. The squad needs emergency surgery.

I just want one or two young prospects brought in, even with little fanfare. Just something to show there’s at least one eye on the longer term.
Absolutely this. Thing is the young prospects market is getting increasingly competitive. We need to be able to show a plan to attract these types - the Lampard name and the off chance of some minutes is unlikely to cut it.

If Winks is the height of his footballing knowledge then I think it's safe to say we've got another dud of a director of football on our hands.

We need to be attractive to players way, way off first team minutes.

Top academies are attracting players that are barely teenagers or younger.

We need to show parents we know what we're doing and their kids have as a good a foundation for a career in football here as they would get at City/United/Liverpool etc.

Step one was finally binning off that utter waste of space Unsworth, playing his faves until they were well into their 20s in a development league.

If the club can demonstrate a properly functioning academy structure and a joined up coaching style that could well lead to a career somewhere we have a better chance of attracting that talent. (to use ourselves or sell on)

Nah. Not believing that. Man does nothing, Innit.
He shouldn't be fixing the culture, and organisation and running of the club. He should be personally sat in every Nandos in the country signing players, all by himself.
The pair on this fella, seriously.
Some of are fans are so easily pleased it scares me.

Really hope the new owners continue to give him the autonomy to do his job.

He is clearly an effective and pragmatic operator, something we need desperately.

…until Moshiri decides he want to pay a 34 yearold Mario Gotze £350,000 pw

I think Moshiri has checked out. Every Evertonian follows a similar path, all wide eyed and positive to start with, ground down in the middle but still hopeful things might turn around, ending in complete dejection and a love/hate relationship with the club.

Farhad Moshiri is no Evertonian. Good riddance to him when he goes
