No way we broke even in 21/22 mate, im anticipating a loss will be somewhere between 60 mill - 70 mill. Thats including the Richarlison sale.

We should be back in profitability for 22/23, but thats via 40 million for Gordon and a couple of other bits and bobs.

26 mill GBP incoming million for Kean on the first of July, for 23/24.

The problem isnt transfer fees mind, so no point doing a net spend on fees vs income the problem is wages and amortisation thats the basis of our financial problems.

We continue to pay for the mistakes of the past with each current window, the necessity of selling Richarlison, Gordon and Kean is required to forgive our former sins but ultimately making very little headway beyond covering our losses for our trouble and just about breaking even, the tanker is beginning to turn around though.

How would we be down £60-70mil in 2021/22 with high earners off the books and sales made?

Rondon? He’s only just left, the 2021/22 financial year ended in April 2022. Even with James and Bernard out of the way our wage bill has still been way too high for our position.
We were running at something like nearly 90% of our turnover was going on wages when it really needs to be down around the 60-70% area for where we are at the moment. No idea what it currently stands at.

This as Si says mate, 90% + of anything we made was spent on the wage bill. That's before you look at operating costs, amortisation and transfer fees. So anything additional is a loss. Last years financial accounts showed a loss of £120 mill - so thats basically anything in addition to 90% + of what we made that we spent on wages. To think we have cut costs (wages, transfers in, operating costs) to the extent of: our turnover being 193 mill and a loss of 120 mill = 313 mill spent in that last financial year (20/21) - its just not realistic to think we broke even in 21/22 and our costs dropping from 313 mill to 193 mill - just by loosing a few contracts and signing Demari Gray and Rondon in the summer. If we only lost 60 -70 mill we are doing well and thats with having to sell Richarlison.

think the good work we done last few years gettin rid of high earners was cancelled out when we lost them sponsorships , cos although our wage bill went down so did what we brought in sometimes i think we’re cursed

The USM sponsorship will hit this year mate, reportedly worth 25 mill to the club annually, so turnover could drop from 193 mill to 173 million, that said we had no covid impact really, so there may be an improvement there - though that may be a bad thing for us - as we were creative with it to justify our losses. I beleive the full 25 mill was paid for 21/22, its this financial year 22/23 were the USM loss will hit.
