They've got Aubamyang and Havertz and then spent millions to not suit either of them.

They have strikers. Good ones. Just not suited to what they've horded.

There were plenty of loans and players available for us. The board just pocketed £40mill from Gordon to balance the books

Aubyamang and Havertz are on circa 200k+ a week man.

Were either joining Everton ?

It’s all damn FFP’s fault that we sold our top scorer for £60m on July 1st and replaced him with two players who have scored about 20 top flight goals combined in their careers.

The shopping basket of chelsea and Everton were on different planets.
We needed options up front. As opposed to the zero options that has now happened. There is no comparison to chelsea.
You know it.
We know it
Henry kissinger knew it.

Literally about 8 clubs in a relegation scrap this season could argue they needed that in January.

Only West Ham signed a decent one - the same West Ham who have cash on the hip and are playing in Europe and finished top 7 the previous two seasons.

All the bedwetters need to stop thinking that this is FIFA and the DOF can just press triangle, triangle, R2, left, circle, L1 down square and generate money from thin air to sign a top striker who is desperate to play for a club battling relegation.

Some mad shouts in ere.

Said the same at the tail end of the window.

21/22 season would be around breakeven as we brought in Gray in the summer for pocket change and then Digne was sold for the 2 full backs.

We also must have offloaded a fair bit off the wage bill along with James' fee.

22/23 season (this one lol ) we must be well up £30-40mil id expect with alot of loan fees and wages off the books too.

If Kean's £25mil fee comes off this years books then that would be an excellent season.

Overall those 2 seasons we should be north of £55mil in positive.

Another 'careful' and 'sensible' window coming up and 2024 would surely mean a big splash.

I hope Thelwell offloads Keane + Holgate + Maupay and one or two others and can bring some funds in.
The business doesnt make any money.

Where are the funds coming from for this "big splash".

People need to be realistic, we have no money cos our owner is building the stadium with his own money and he aint wasting any more on players.

You made the point that Chelsea spent £600mill and couldn't get a decent striker. One is that I don't think they ever wanted one (have Lukaku too out on loan), and two is that they already have strikers at a good level.

We on the other hand had no plan then went scatter gun with money we had no intention of spending. It's not even about bringing in 'quality' as we couldn't and didn't even bring in anybody because at board and DOf level we're a mess

lol lol lol lol lol lol lol

Not counting the time he had from February 2022 then?

You know, considering we had 1 broken striker and knew our only other goal threat was going.

The 6 months leading up to the summer doesn’t count??
