For the time being he gets a pass as the main issue was Lampard and he was manager before he joined.

No he doesn’t get a pass at all, why would he get a pass?

The main issue is having absolutely nobody that can score a goal. This Lampard obsession is bizarre, he is no longer our manager. We didn’t have any goalscorers under him (well we sort of did but Thelwell sold him) and we still don’t have any goalscorers now.

Who was the goalscorer we sold?

The record books will show Lampard to be on par with Mike Walker.

I'm prepared to give DOF a bit more time than first time managers. Recruitment is one function of his lets see how it goes moving forward now he has the majority of positions filled.

It is the hardest position to get right I agree and January is a tough market. Yet the club had 5 to 6 months to find a replacement. They have had nearly 2 years really as Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been consistently injured. Now the club have loads of scouts, data bases and knowledge that we don’t have. You can also agree to sign players any time during the season. Look at Brighton that Japanese winger they signed for 2 million never heard of him but looks a player. I’m not giving this club any more excuses, they just need to get actual professional people in that know how to do the job they get paid for.

Lampard chose to build his team around DCL instead of trying to offload him in the summer when he was actually fit.

He also loved "starboy" and never sold him in the summer when we could have used the money on a quality replacement.

I bet Big Kev does some bits this summer now he has an experienced manager in Dyche not sticking his nose in with daft decision making.

I don’t care about Lampard. Kevin Thelwell is responsible for us continuing to have absolutely no forward options and still unable to score a goal despite the fact Lampard has been sacked.

It will be the player we sold to appease the FFP rules last summer.

Damn you Thelwell for causing FFP issues.
What I mean really - we didn't sell Richarlison cuz Thelwell did it, we had to sadly. He sold sTaRbOy which was the right call in all honesty.

Not too fond of a DoF that didn't get ANYONE in, even a loan or something, when the glaring hole in the squad is a competent (or even "upcoming" honestly) striker, but I'm with you to give him the benefit of the doubt for this year.

We also have a very, very crap board that tends to meddle in things, hopefully Kenwrong kicks it so our DoF can be a DoF without his """"""HELP"""""".

Yeah he’s added deadwood like Maupay, McNeil, Coady and Gana to the wage bill so he has unfortunately caused FFP issues.
Maupay is the bizarre one of those, but didn't Lampard want Coady and McNeil or something? Honestly don't remember what other crap was written about it at the time.

Also Coady was a revelation when he came in, was he not? We were all cheering for him and whatever.

And we could afford?

Who are these strikers?

Well just a couple of cheap examples Guirassy went on loan to Stuttgart (6 in 13) and Michael Frey just went to Schalke on loan - has a decent record in Belgium but ignoring goals he’s a unit, great holdup play, nice touch, great injury record.

They’re not Mbappe but they were cheap and available.

Seemingly our only options were no one or £30m strikers we couldn’t get.
