Maupay was a striker available in the summer, that's it, another body to fill the gaps, but apart from Ellis Simms and Lewis Dobbin coming back as back up, who could we get ? Whom did we miss out on?

The main issue in the team is a lack of firepower however that didn't stop Dyche grinding results against Arsenal and Leeds.

Had Lampard done the same in multiple games we would be comfortably midtable hence he has been the main cause of our woes.

Long term we need forwards in no question but this seasons relegation battle is ultimately down to awful tactics.

Frankel had Richarlison up top and we only just stayed up by the skin of our teeth last season.

There is a theme of Everton being in relegation battles when Lampard is in the dugout.

It's why you have scouts and a list of targets, an actual plan.

Mudryk, Kudus, Denis, Sarr, Danjuma were ones off the top of my head that we didn't get over the line due to financials and ineptitude.

Brereton Diaz? Sarabia? Moffi? The lad from Coventry.

Bottom line is we're not expecting a 20 goals a season striker. But anyone athletic, pacy, and can find the net from time time is a major upgrade from what we have. And we apparently couldn't find anyone.

The main issue was his failure to prioritise a forward in August. January is always tough but he doesnt get the benefit of the doubt because the issues in Jan were caused by his own failings from the previous window.

If we go down its because we did not sign goalscorers. Thats his fault along with the board

Yeah that is a list, though half of them were looking for better clubs. In the past we could attract Lukaku and a few top players with potential , lol even James 3 years ago, but now the problem is - and BK / Moshiri are a cause of this reputation - we don't look like we are a good club to play for. even when we were not in the top half consistently, we were able to attract people like Kanchelskis, and then later Yakubu...money and potential can help attract players to us, but I wonder if it's the mess that we portray makes us look like it's not worth signing.

If we're honest we only have had 2 creative players these past 2-3 seasons - James and Siggurdsson.

One had to be sold as the wage book is outta control and the other was completely out of the clubs hands.

Nice; I’m pretty sure we could have negotiated a deal.

Luka Jović went on a free in the summer, Guirassy went on loan. There’s always a deal if you know what you’re looking for. Instead we got Maupay

Honestly blows my mind, opinions like this.

You could honestly buy virtually any striker from any of the leading 5 leagues, and they would have to be pretty diabolical to not improve on our current options.

We could not afford to at least try and improve on our pathetic current forward options, yet here we are. January was an absolute disaster and a complete and utter FAILURE from our DOF.
