The club is in disarray. Thelwell out of his depth.

Tbf, while I hate our board with a passion, they did come out and say judge us at the end of the window. I'm annoyed as anyone that the failure to have a striker in by now has categorically cost us points, but out of his depth is jumping the gun a bit at this stage.

Yes, if they are good players. But we are not in control right now, everything is up in the air.

Is it not in control or is it not all contingent on if Gordon goes or not? I would imagine what we can afford completely changes if Gordon goes, so settling on maybe a lesser target now could prove foolish.

Only because you're not sat in his office knowing his every move. You can't say something is not in control when you only know what the club tell you.

I don't believe they anticipated no forward by game 4 of the season.

I don't believe they anticipated selling Gordon in late August.

So I don't believe things are under control right now. We need decisive thinking and leadership.

I feel like perhaps they might have anticipated selling AG later so as to push up the price a bit? Gone from 40 to 60 by playing hard ball with everyone.

Who knows though?!

Once more unto the breach, dear Kev, once more;
Or close the wall up with our 7 CB’s.
In transfers there's nothing so becomes a man
As a goal scored and assist:
But when the blast of the whistle blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the DoF;
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the cash
Buy a bloody striker!

If as expected, both Gordon and Ali leave in the next few days for 60M, having already sorted out our defense and GK was sorted anyway, with IGG being sorted out, we will have DCL and Gordon as forwards (Rondon as useless backup for the rest of the season before leaving for free) and McNeil and Iwobi as attacking midfielders, while Gbamin, Gomes and Allan available for sale or loan.

Gana, Onana, Iwobi, Doucoure and Davies as backup for the central midfield position (even McNeil can be used in case of emergency +Price and Warrington so highly rated and been on the bench this season) I don't see the need for another midfielder, unless someone pays real money for Allan or Gbamin or Gomes.

Basically it's a very straightforward situation, we need several forward players, at least 3 of them, Frank and Kevin had at least 10 days (most probably more) where they knew Chelsea might end up paying 50M for Gordon, so they should have done their homework by now in identifying targets and opening negotiations with their agents, right now they should have a shortlist of players (and i don't mean only 3 names on the list, i means 10+ names) players we can afford and ready to come and wages won't be a problem.

60M + 20M guaranteed next summer from Juve + whatever we already had before Gordon and Alli should be enough to buy 3-5 exciting players.

So, no excuse about being late in the window and players being overpriced, yes Che Adams will be overpriced, but someone like Terem Moffi from FC Lorient will be well within our budget, even if they say he is not for sale, pay 2-3M more and their owner will drive him over.

The next week will define the future of Kevin Thelwell, so far he had the excuse of FFP and being smart in the market, but now, will he go blow 50M on Che Adams and Broja on loan and Joao Pedro or will he use the European market and bring in players with potential?

I wouldn't lean to that conclusion yet he hasn't gone on any unhinged tirades about ex or current rangers players

Not agreeing with our recruitment strategy and thinking we are disorganised and a bit chaotic, does not make me unhinged.

I personally find it completely impossible to fathom how so many people think we've had a good summer. The proof is in the pudding on the pitch over 90 minutes and we are dire in attack. I'm not shocked at all by what I'm seeing. I've warned people it would happen since the beginning of pre season.
