Yet he still signed Dwight McNeil and Neal Maupay

Last year we couldn't score goals, this was his answer. Regardless of the clowns above, his decisions have made an tough season almost impossible
I don't disagree at all.

All I'm saying is we're simply rearraging the deckchairs with directors of football and managers while Kewnright's regime remains in place.

Additionally, Thelwell inherited a squad, a perilous financial position and a dysfunctional hierarchy above him (the last one of which is the real issue) to fix.

I'm not going to defend his business overall as it's shown to be below par, but mitigation is important. He concentrated on fixing our dire defence and midfield.

I know for a fact that Maupay was not the first, second or even third choice, yet the finances meant we were heavily shackled hence why we got the dud.

Arguably, this doesn't negate the lack of a decent forward as you'd have hoped we could have looked elsewhere, but you catch my drift.

Look at January too: we had a forward signed, photographed... the lot... but due to the farcical situation we put ourselves in he went elsewhere, like others did.

Thelwell is far from blameless - my point is that he is a result of the real problem, which is the ineptitude at the top. We've walked slowly into this mess.

Since Moshiri took over, we've pissed millions up the wall on players who simply aren't good enough with inflated fees and wages, and now we can't buy.

Overheard at finch farm: "sean I know this series of recent losses is rough but kevin has some books you should read, they were mildly received with youth soccer coaches living in the states with sales numbering in the tens"

Have to wonder why he didnt get the Danjuma deal over the line before Lampard was sacked.

Also how he didnt push the board to hold onto lampard until the deal was over the line.

How he ticked off dyche as well is beyond me.

Brighton desperate for a centre-forward, go out and buy on two months before the transfer window opens.

We're still looking for one, almost 12 months on.

Shows the disparity between a club that's well-run and has clear-objectives to the absolute circus in town here.
why are they desperate for a centre-forward

they have one of the best young prospects in evan ferguson, welbeck and undav

The fella that's signed him worked for us until 2 months ago so it can't be not identifying a player

I mean we've been heavily linked with Joao Pedro for like 3 windows now. We just don't have £30m anymore.
I'm aware we have. We did have 30 million to spend but we just chose to wait and spend it on other targets instead. With hindsight that is probably the decision that has sunk us.

Haven't heard a peep out of this chap which considering the shambles that has been this season is extremely disappointing given he's the Director of football for what that's worth.
