It's doesn't help when you sign a known bum like him. We had a 60 million pound striker that never got replaced in the summer where he instead spent most the budget on holding mids

Which could be said about anyone in the role of DoF at Everton but there’s no excuse for signing Maupay….I hardly think BK or FM went over Kev’s head to sign him

If we sack him we can't replace him, we have to walk away from the DOF model

Well we would obviously sign 2 of the 3. Whichever one he doesn't sign is at minimum 8 million saved.

Gomes, Iwobi, Mcneil, Grey as a 4

In all fairness we could have had Iwobi in the middle instead of Gana and it probs would have made little difference. Gama has been a complete waste of money.

I know we will have to sell players if we are relegated but was just wondering if worth keeping Gomes for the championship…his lack of pace won’t be as evident and his ball retention would be more effective at that level…not good enough for the PL but well good enough for the championship (as long as he doesn’t want to leave) - I appreciate his salary would be burdensome but we will need to keep the odd high earner who can perform at that level

Did you even look at his form before posting this? Before last night he’d only scored 3 in his previous 13 appearances this year

7 in 14 isn't actually all that bad you know, we have a forward whose got 1 in is something like 27 ?

Onana and Garner at £42mil for the pair seems to be good business.

Keep both for 12months and i imagine we'd make a £30mil++ profit.

It’s definitely short term, was just thinking he has decent upper body strength, is as technical a midfielder as we have, his pace is not so much an issue in games, but agree there are 5 more games a season - it may take its toll on him. I just think we need to look inside the squad first if we do go down also because of the uncertainty around the P&S punishment
