Nothing is certain in this life and that includes the Football team we support.

We all have opinions, and differing opinions are what make life interesting. We can only hope that DCL stays fit, just like Man City hopes that Haaland stays fit.

We can only but hope that we make more signings; that's just the way it is.
Diffence is if Haaland had missed as many games as DCL has over the last two seasons they'd have signed a replacement or two as soon as his issues had started to look long-term.

Didn't he join us in Feb after the Window closed?
Yes this is his third window

He has a fantastic eye for strikers so far tbh, yeah.

Great track record of getting good ones, for the appropriate money too.

According to the Bobble, KT and/or our recruitment team had identified other targets (Guirassy being one IIRC) but BK and FM overruled and wanted the PL experience of Maupay, who had been offered to them by Brighton

Definitely meddling as it always has been, which means the DoF is useless, wouldn't put it past BK (and FM but we know which one likes to stick his grubby fat hands everywhere he can), but he's not without fault - other sources have also said he was 1 of the targets he identified before that too for some unknown reason. Selling of players, regardless if they're key or not (Gordon) and having not even an option lined up is also shocking.

Maybe he'll get better if he can actually work, and we've signed okay players occasionally, but in our current state he needed to do better/quicker business in general. Guirassy is a fantastic example - he was on loan at Stuttgart, which is something we apparently can't do ever, or so I've been told by people on here that it's impossible because no one made any loan signings last season in Europe.

This is a big season for him to do more - Dyche knows what kind of players he wants and those will be satisfying to us - determination, playing hard, playing direct. So far we've signed 400000 year old fossil ironically named Ashley Young and Danjuma, who was a snake when we tried to loan him last january (which was a dumb move then imho - we didn't need more wingers, we STILL needed a striker, still do to this day) and the rest are "interested in" and all those*. Time will tell.

* I know TN has confirmed one of those, but I trust no one until I see the player signing the contract.

Brought in the Brighton Chief Scout Lee Sargeson and the highly rated Southampton fella Dan Rice who was wanted by Ashworth at Newcastle.

Both for youth recruitment. Nice that we are targeting the Kudus', Gnonto's, Ekitike's etc with high ceilings but hopefully we start to get them when they are younger and cheaper.

....I’d prefer had he brought in an effective striker.

We do seem to have recruited decent people over the last few months hopefully we will see a better recruitment strategy

Thing is we "target" players we don't have any realistic chance of signing. I've a horrible feeling that Kev is aware of how little money we have to spend and as it stands his job is just to leak rumours to social media to try to keep the fan base quiet.

Aye, I'm happy that we're identifying young talent with potential as that's where we need to be looking for. However, the financial situation isn't helping us at all.

We've simply got to hope that they're planning for the long-term and are hoping that the financial situation will improve in the near future, hence nice preparation.

They are risking that we'll still be in the Prem. Any player who signs for us without a relegation clause needs to sack his agent.

Of course but its critical that we sort out our youth teams/scouting. Its one of the first areas Moshiri should have spent £££ on. Getting quality people for youth recruirment. If we had done that 6 years ago we could have had a few quality players in the first team now or sold them for big ££.

Im happy good people are being targeted and signed now.

….Stones, DCL, Holgate, Lookman et Al. We’ve not done too bad in recruiting young players. Best part of £100m from Stones and Gordon.
