Anyone who thinks those two are "under the radar" is bonkers.
So you knew of these guys this time last year? before the links in the summer? under the radar for most fans on the street, not for the immense scouting networks of clubs who get kids in from the age of 5 (didn't realise that wasn't implicit & needed expressly stated FGS)

It was only paper talk, despite all the stuff from this end all the dutch journo's said Kudos was staying at Ajax from day one and Mudryk had been linked with us and Arsenal but seems to want a move to Germany, they also want €50m for him

Lol. It was more aimed at those that seem to think we discovered them under a rock somewhere and no other club on earth had heard of them. You'll be ok mate.

I think different positions might have different age profiles (would make sense to me anyway) - but even if it was breaking the age structure, 2 CDFs who fit the character profiles for a loan fee, a sign on fee and 4.5m would have been too good of an opportunity to miss, and I have a feeling they didn't rinse us on wages either.
100% agree. There's a need for balance, not EVERY player should fit a single profile. In the spine of the team you can and should be flexible in order to get the best combination.

I probably phrased it poorly.

In the last 18 months or so, we have got rid of:

Richarlison
Allan
Tosun
Digne
Delph
Kean
James
Bernard
The ghost who cannot be named
Bolasie
Plus Gbamin and Dele on loan.

All of whom were in our list of top earmers and were thought to be on £100k plus.

Thats over somewhere between £1-2m per week, which could be £50-100m per year in wages.

So yeah, maybe not quite as drastic as that, but shows how quickly it can go up or down by a considerable amount.
Our wage bill will have certainly gone down, but its certainly nowhere near 40m.

FInd it very promising that two targets we had concrete interest in (Mudryk and Kudus) have both gone on to impress in the Champions League.

Although they might now be out of our reach it's good to see he has an eye for players like that. Onana being one that we got over the line. Kudus looks the part and Mudryk looks like the fastest kid alive.

Similar to the Moyes days when we’d miss out on a target and next thing you knew they’d lit up a tournament and a top club was getting them: Hazard, Modric, Yaya Toure, Arshavin. We didn’t get them but it always gave me confidence that at least Moyes was looking for the right players.

Kudus could come back to bite us but at least the players we’re linked with our quality rather than us throwing huge sums at a player no one else is even in for e.g Siggurdson Keane Tosun Bolasie Klaassen Doucoure
