I'd trust you to do a better job than him mate to be honest. Would Maupay and Mcneil have been on your wish list? Mine neither.
However he's not the manager so probably never imagined Maupay would become our spearhead supported by 2 x wingers who are taller than him. On the free's and lones he's done well, and i mean that......but i'd keep the Everton cheque book miles away from him.

Being DOF is more than just buying players mate. Tbf to him he did bring in Coady, Tarks and Onana who have improved us on top of scouting Kudus who looks a baller.

Way to early to judge him imo.

It will be Raul Jimenez.
Out of favour just back.from injury.
Stinks of the sort of stuff we do.
Raul wouldn't be a bad signing to be fair...depends very much on the fee...risk that he may be finish at premier league level but in our position we are going to have to take risks on whichever player we bring.

Yes mate, I alluded to the free's and loan deals. Moyes type business? But the serious money swoops have in the main been very dissapointing.

Fact is unless you're involved in EFC (not as a supporter) you don't know if he's any good or a chancer. So you can it go on what's visible to us. And what I've seen is that in one window he's inexplicably made the slowest team in the league even slower.

File under very much on licence for me.

Sceptical of L2.

You see the personal abuse this fella receives based on one transfer window in the job (working under financial restrictions) and wonder why the footballing world banters our fanbase these days.
Is there even one single ounce of evidence this guy knows what he is doing/how to structure a football club??

His previous jobs are basically a couple of months at New York Nobodies FC (I doubt 99% of the people in NYC even know they have a soccerball team), shuffling the paperwork for the Portugese agent who ran the show at Wolves, and a stint at 48 times UCL winners Derby n Preston.

He's probably picking up £50-100k a week in his job and he's jizzed our limited budget on the likes of Maupey and McNeil. I know I know, some people will say "but but Tarks and Coady" and they are good signings but lets not pretend it requires a genuis to get them over the line. - Or are we saying shaping the youth team/academy into the same mould as almost every other club is a "masterstroke".

On the one hand I think there might be an arguement to say it's too soon to judge him fully (so far, major fail) and on the other, I'd happily bet not one single person on this forum would say "we missed a trick there" if the mighty KT never joined us let alone anyone recognize him on the street.

It’s not rocket science to see the stats that McNeill and Maupay put up for Burnley and Brighton, suggested they would be the answer to our attacking options. If they’d been on a free, you could maybe understand taking a chance on them, but not for a combined 35m!

RS signed the PSV winger we had been linked with for £37m. Koff KT.

He’ll be a success for them knowing their luck with transfers, yes he would have been an upgrade on McNeill and Maupay (but there again anyone would) but not many imports from the Dutch league adapt to the PL.

Its called being competent mate, we don't know this terminology because we are run like a clown show.

It'd be nice, one day in the near future, to have an actual plan. Instead of the usual "he scored past us once, sign him"

Besides coady Basically signed a bunch of squad players thinking they were starting quality. Even before thelwell that was the issue , gray not horrible but not who you want starting on a regular basis and you could say that about the majority of our team. No starters just squad players

On top of Coady, Tarkowski and Onana were top signings.

The issue is everyone in front of Onana.

Thelwell has a lot of answer for.

Mcneil
Maupay
Onana

So far all look very very poor signings.

lol
