Why had he spent our limited funds on a young striker the manager won't play. Big nosed tosser

Only thing I can think about that transfer is it was a low down payment and they think there is value in him for the future so it was worth the risk. May have only been £3m up front and the rest on the drip. It's clearly a common tactic but it seems less teams are agreeing to the terms this summer.

I don't for one second believe we've paid £12m or more up front. If we have, and that has consumed a large proportion of the budget, then it is (unsurprisingly) poor transfer planning.

We go into this season weaker than last and this lad seriously needs to move on. We've been needing a striker fir 3 windows now and all we have is a young lad that the manager won't play and Neal Maupay. Who's getting us the goals Kev?

….I’d just sack him and be rid but he’s part of the Everton Establishment where they say lots but do little. He’s got such a tough job, poor bloke.
I'm not sure what the point of a DoF is in our position ( no money , acquires players the manager won't play , owner interference).
As you say we might as well sack him and give the keys of the castle to Dyche and let him bring in a team of championship standard battlers oven ready for our promotion push next season. All funded by the sale of Branthwaite and Onana.

It's clear he has no contacts or awareness of worldwide football because his interest centres around the obvious European leagues. Don't remember him being linked with any South American or obscure league players (Japan, korea) which can be purchased cheap, look at Brighton, celtic, German clubs etc. They buy unknown talent for pennies then sell high. We don't even sniff around our lower leagues in this country. We could all do the same job he's doing as it absolutely nothing imaginative nor clever. He's a fraud and won't care being on the money he's on. He should have a huge list of young talent from worldwide football having been doing the DOF job for years yet hasn't shown any willingness or acumen to bring in players we haven't heard of for minor money. Even chemiti wasn't a cheap purchase. Its just a merry go round of [Poor language removed]

….but he doesn’t acquire the players the team, the manager and the supporters need. They should Sack him and get somebody in who can remedy the obvious but they won’t because they are equally incompetent.

Isn't the job of a DoF to bring in players that will benfit the clubs long term strategy ( lol) rather than just the whim of a particular manager ?
