You've reeled off his CV there. Anything in there stand out successful? Ive only glanced at his 20 year record tbf. Nothing stood out.

I always think someone dedicated can get a UEFA licence. That doesnt mean they're successful.
The point being made isn't about success or performance, it was correcting a statement that he is not qualified for the job. He clearly is.

If there’s any defence, I’m not sure which proven strikers have moved or gone on loans in that period that we should have been on to, certainly within our price range at least.
That said 18months is a stretch and you would hope with his team of hundreds he could have identified a 20 y/o then who would be ready now. Or maybe they had higher hopes for Simms etc.

Mate we've started two seasons in a row without a recognised centre forward to put on the pitch. I dont think we can get top drawer. Well i know we cant. But to be that toothless is criminal.

I do get the shouts of how tough it probably is to convince anyone to join our rotten club, but that is his job, and he's doing it awfully. He knows the state of play with the board etc, if he can't get it done in spite of it he's just showing himself to be another yes man that we don't need. It's incompetence and he needs to go.
He is a symptom not the cause and myself cant judge him objectively. To be honest surprised we have managed to sign anyone.

A CV is a CV. If its not showing anything of note then being qualified to do the job is debatable.
Qualifications are of note, especially ones that make you make you 'qualified' for the job as an area of expertise, in some cases they are literally the legal requirement to make you qualified. I'm not going to get into a dull semantics argument about it. He is clearly qualified for the job, if he's good at it is a separate discussion and with the restrictions at our club making the focal point of all critiques of the club is bonkers.

Well i think you should answer why he's qualified to put players on the pitch at Everton. You put first team manager at Derby. It was for 2 days between sacked managers. Thats like did you do woodwork at school? Whack it on the CV. You're a Carpenter.

He holds the UEFA Pro licence, UEFA advanced license (one of the youngest to do so), a BSc in sports science and LMA in applied management.
Was director of coach education in Wales
Director of youth at Preston
Academy manager at Derby
First team coach at Derby
Academy manager at Wolves
DoF at Wolves
DoF at New York

You can critique the performance of of someone without making false statements like he isn't qualified for the job.

….the best judge of a footballer I ever saw struggled to put together a coherent sentence together, not a qualification in sight but bags of trophies under his leadership.

i judge Thelwell on the performance of Everton, not how many books he’s written. He should be judged on the players he acquires & ultimately who he doesn’t acquire.

It’s quite simple; Leaving us without an effective striker for a whole season nearly got us relegated, not addressing it again is incompetence. There are absolutely no excuses, yet amazingly he still has his luvvies.

I didn't put first team manager down.

He has accredited governing body qualifications making him qualified for the role, a huge background within football as a player, coach, academy director and Dof making him experienced in the field. I'm an engineer, when I am involved in hiring personal there is a minimum level of qualification and experience that makes them qualified for the job, not good at it, qualified. If you can't understand that I really don't care at this point as going into the semantics of this statement is incredibly boring.

Thats fine, judge the performance then, I think you are focusing on an incredibly narrow view of what such a role entails but crack on.

Then let him pick the manager/coach he wants to work with not who the chairman/owner want, that's just common sense. He allegedly wanted Corberan who is about as opposite to Dyche as it gets.

Mate ive stopped reading there. That doesnt mean anything to me. So he's an academic.
We're not going to agree.

It’s not hard to understand what he’s saying tbh one person is using the actual definition of qualified and other people are just using their own definition of what it means. He’s not saying thelwell is good only that it’s silly to say he’s not qualified because he is! People keep doing the same in every thread just making up issues instead of focusing on the real ones.

i fully understand what hes saying. The definition of qualified to do the job in this industry is very different to so many other jobs. You cant just say hes qualified and leave it at that. Its not that black and white.
