I hope he comes back and become a valuable member of the squad, but I fear he may be too slow (i.e. Klaassen) for the Premier League. Hope to be proven wrong; he seems to be playing really well for Forest!

A loan move that has been as successful as Seamus Coleman at Blackpool. He has been schooled by the Everton academy on how to be a Premiership player and needed the experience of competitive adult football to round off his apprenticeship.
I think Lookman and Vlasic are different in that they had the competitive football but not brought through the academy.
The little cameo on Monday of Rooney telling Lookman where he needed to be to defend a free against us tells us the learning ciurve these players are on.

Really both Lookman and Vlasic should be starting and Dowell should get in the team next season...

However, I think you've cracked it there...it was interesting to see Rooney pushing Lookman and ordering him what to do...

Think the three of them need some training defensively...so rather than the first line of my post, if they improve defensively they should all be starting :)

Vlasic and Lookman both starting would leave us so exposed defensively.

Have to say I don't think either are anywhere near starting yet.

I find Lookman often does nothing even after coming on as a sub tbh, he's got lots of quality but doesn't really use it yet.

That europa game where he scored two was boss though and if he can replicate more of that he'll start getting games.

Rooney really gets along with Lookman so it's good to see him instructing him. It's a good thing.

I don't think either Lookman or Vlasic have done enough to be demanding a first team spot though, and with Yannick coming back I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them go out on loan for the second half of the season. Doesn't mean we'd be looking to let them go, but they do need game time.

A lot could depend on what happens with Ross as well.

As mentioned, I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Dowell have another loan next season at a slightly better/more consistent club.

I like Forest a lot, but man, you never know when they're going to turn up.
