As mentioned, I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Dowell have another loan next season at a slightly better/more consistent club.

I like Forest a lot, but man, you never know when they're going to turn up.

Really both Lookman and Vlasic should be starting and Dowell should get in the team next season...

However, I think you've cracked it there...it was interesting to see Rooney pushing Lookman and ordering him what to do...

Think the three of them need some training defensively...so rather than the first line of my post, if they improve defensively they should all be starting

I'd be very surprised if all 3 are still at the club after next summer. Especially if Henry comes into the first team. Not saying we should sell, but 2 of those 4 will probably need a loan/transfer.

...if he goes out on loan again I suspect it would get to a point where he would be near the end of his contract and we’d lose out. I think he’ll have done enough this season for a decision to be made on whether he has a future with Everton. He’d certainly be in demand if we choose to sell, and Premiership clubs could be interested. 9 goals already from midfield is certainly something other managers will be noting.

Rooney really gets along with Lookman so it's good to see him instructing him. It's a good thing.

I don't think either Lookman or Vlasic have done enough to be demanding a first team spot though, and with Yannick coming back I wouldn't be surprised to see one of them go out on loan for the second half of the season. Doesn't mean we'd be looking to let them go, but they do need game time.

A lot could depend on what happens with Ross as well.

Interesting you mention Bolasie...I'm hoping him and Mirallas are punted soon + Lennon carries limited threat. Barkley is off in Jan despite Rooneys fawning of him in the press....

..as I was saying in the ‘transfer thread’, Joey, I hope the club have appointed somebody to cover that aspect of Royle’s post. I’d like a reporter to ask Allardyce if he’s being made aware of the young loanees as it could impact transfer dealings if one or two are considered good enough.

Think the club suits him tbh. He's going to be a go-to player in an average Championship side. When he's with us he'll be a go-to player in an average PL team. Perfect.

Why do you want rid of Bolasie?

He has been injured for a year and before his injury and was productive before it.

Sam has already said he's looking forward to having him in the squad and he offers power, pace, work rate and skill all in one package - not to mention height.

Our upturn in form has coincided with Lennon playing well and forming a great partnership with Lennon.

Lookman and Vlasic will get their chances, and I'm confident both will take them.

I was watching him on Monday, so much effort and endeavor BUT.....lacks quality. We are so limited with someone like him, nice guy and all that but not top 6

Add Siggy and Henry and thats 8 players for 2 wide spots. That's 3 too many IMO so the 5 I'd keep are Siggy/Bolaise/Lennon/Dowell and the last spot goes to whoever does best in preseason out of Henry/Lookman/Vlasic, loaning out the other two. Mirallas is gone in January id say.
