Of course he can develop in the Championship, he's barely played any competitive football, and it's a highly competitive league

Trying to portray it as glorified Sunday League is desperate, even by your standards.
Erm...U23 championships at club and country level.

What if no offers have come in from abroad for him, have you ever considered that like?

I mean I am pretty sure the championship is a lot more competitive than the Swiss league for instance, so not sure exactly where you feel he should be going? We can't just send him to Manchester airport with his boots and a passport to find a club.
I have considered that yes. However have you considered that despite Chelsea being a no mark team when abramovich bought them they were able to put together a partnership with Vitesse? That Utd had something similar with Antwerp? Moshiri is very business savvy as I think he has already proven by looking at different ways to improve our income streams. At the moment we have our best crop of youngsters for a very long time and although at Chelsea there is no route to the first team their youngsters are put on loan on the continent mostly to improve their technical games. If you look at youth football the lad Baker was carving up last year and came on leaps and bounds. What I don't want to happen to Dowell is he ends up with a dinosaur of a coach and after three games where he doesn't score a screamer and whoever forest have up front can't get on the end of a throughball because his thought process is 2 seconds behind Dowell he ends up on the bench like Barkley at Leeds.
I may be wrong and hope I am with the loan and the lad plays 40 games and tops the assists stats and wins championship goal of the season but I honestly think that in Dowells case a move abroad would have benefitted him enormously.

Yep, United with Antwerp as well if my memory serves me correctly.

I would love to know the fruits of these partnerships and the players that have come back from Vitesse and Antwerp and been a success?

The Championship has evolved like the rest of football IMO, so absolutely no harm in sending him there. If he is good enough he will make a name for himself and do well.

Yes, against Krasnodar in the EL...two and a half years ago.

Welcome to 2014.

We played Davies at 16 against Krasnodar did we Dave?

Maybe rather than welcoming people to 2014, you should go back to 2014 yourself and realsie that you are wrong and Davies never played against them at all - it was Ledson

Holgate played a lot last season. Tom Davies was given a good run.

Calvert-Lewin was given a go as well.

But sure, yeah, he's not interested in youth, despite loaning out Dowell to develop him a bit more.

But like you keep saying, it's all about opinions.

You forget holgate played due to colemans injury. Davies played a lot yes but besic and McCarthy were out injured a lot and Barry can't play as much as he used too. Also dcl played as there wasn't much options in his position.

I think people are confused and think you mean Davies.

Welcome to 2014.

Davies was blooded with the first team before Koeman?

You mean when Martinez didn't play him at all during his tenure here, or let him be in the U23's while Davies was called up to train with the senior England set up (just FYI, by Roy Hodgson, who spotted the talent but Martinez didn't, it seems)?

Right.

Welcome to 2014.

Maybe because thisis the posts Dave was responding to and the bit he bolded in the original post mate.

so when he plays kids, it's because he has to.

OK, bit of a no-win situation for him this again isn't it?

Possibly because he replied to a Davies-only post about him playing against Krasnodar.

This is the Dowell thread lads, not Tom Davies.

I'm sure it was a typo by @davek and he meant Dowell.
