Don't forget, we've bought/we're buying players in their late 20s/early 30s and they will need replacing at some point. My view would be that we're bringing in the players we need now, with an eye on the U23 stars to gradually replace them. With the number of signings we've made this summer it was always going to be difficult for any of the U23s to get a place. I'm sure we'll see more opportunities from the bench this season as we have a lot of games coming up.

As for Cuco, he was brought in for experienced cover for Coleman - and with Holgate also to cover RB, Kenny was always going to find it tough to get in. Particularly as he is so inexperienced at first team level.

well thats up to the manager to get him the experience instead of buying a donkey to block his path.

True, but you can't just chuck him in as a starter - it's a big step up from U23s to Prem. For now, he'll have to take his chances from the bench whenever they are presented - unless he goes out on loan. Personally, I think both Kenny and Dowell would benefit from a loan to a lower end Prem team to get some experience.

hes been out on loan loads already.
not sure why we should be passing the buck when it comes to developing our own players, english football is a bit of a joke in that respect.
 
Or a decent Championship side, if it was the same team it would be good as they could continue building their understanding. Staying and playing in the U23 would probably stop their development and hinder other players coming thru, so unless they are going to get minutes in 1st team they need 6 month loan.
