1: Kieran Dowell is an incredible talent
Forest have had some wonderful midfielders over the years, the likes of John McGovern, Nigel Clough and Roy Keane to name but three.

Kieran Dowell is something special and you can see why he’s so highly rated at Everton.

There’s no histrionics with him, he just plays the game as it should be played and has such a fine football brain that will take him to the very highest level.

Give it a couple of years, he may well be talked about as one of the top midfielders in England.

His impact against Middlesbrough was hugely impressive and, while the majority of it came in the first half, partly because Forest lacked an element of control once David Vaughan departed before the break, he was key to much of the good work that his side did amid a performance that, at times, oozed quality.

His fleet-footed nature ensures he glides around the pitch effortlessly and sees things that others don’t. A case in point was the ball he played through that cut Boro’s defence apart for Barrie McKay to open the scoring which was nothing short of sublime.

Dowell is already becoming a firm fixture in this Forest side and his style and panache typifies the way in which Mark Warburton likes his team to play.

..he clearly has a lot of confidence and self-belief. The manner in which he plays suggests he knows he's got real quality. Let's not forget he's stepping up to competitive open-age football at a new club in a new city and he's not been found wanting.

It suggests he has attitude. Attitude is about not being scared of football matches.
I've seen him quite a few times live and that attitude always stood out for me. Great to see him displaying the same confidence but no surprise after Martinez's comments: “Kieran’s biggest strength he’s got is his mental strength, it is really, really good, but technically, we all know that left foot is very special.”

Whereas Davies and Lookman look really nervous and/or rattled at times, Dowell doesn't seem to be as phased by mistakes or pressure. His temperament is both a blessing and a curse. You will curse his lack of work rate at times, but he also has the composure to do special things with the ball at his feet.

I think the loan is good for him. Sigurdson may well play on the left and the Forrest fans are saying he fades in games and is a little lightweight. Why not loan him out to get that experience and get back a stronger player? I think it's a good move for him, by the sounds of it he's lighting up their league so let him get a full season under his belt rather then sit here on the bench. Can you honestly see him dislodging Sigurdson, Klaassen, Sandro, Rooney, Lookman?
My view on this is that Koeman should have been giving him a chance to develop by playing minutes for the first team last season, he didn't give him a single one but gave minutes to players like Kone, Lennon, Valencia, Cleverly. Last season was wasted for me and if Koeman wasn't going to give him any opportunities he should have sent out on loan last season. Nevertheless i'm glad he's on loan and for Warburton who likes to play football because I don't think Koeman would have given him any opportunities either this season.

I agree with you, he should have been given a chance last season but it's gone now. Saying that I don't see him every day in training. Maybe against the 1st team he doesn't dazzle so much, it's a possibility. Bleirger way it's done now so getting him game time was the right move for me

I've never seen Davies look nervous - one of his biggest attributes is how composed he always looks on the ball - like a player that's played in the premier league for years
He has had his games where he tried too hard to impress or looked shaky on the ball, but I agree that Davies is mature beyond his years.

he won the U-23s though...surely not a waste breeding a winning mentality

The boy is an excellent prospect with massive potential, but at the moment that's all he is. However if that was a YouTube video of some foreign lad we were scouting then people would be going nuts for him. The vision and technique shown is incredible.
That's like a "best bits" video that you see so often these days on youtube. What you need to remember however is that they are normally out takes from a full or half season. These came from just 3 games at a club he's only been at for just over 2 weeks. Can't speak highly enough of how well he's started there. Let's hope he keeps it up.
