best news this summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! still might have a chance to take me little lad to goodison, to stand on the glwadys and scream everton at the top of his voice!!!!!!! pride over everything else on this one sorry.

What a load of bollocks.

I'm not usually one to be drawn into negativity. But this summer has been total [Poor language removed] so far :(

What will happen now?

Like on the OS we'll re-evaluate everything. 78mill in a years time raises to 100+million. Do we say goodbye to Tesco cos of the cost? The amount of money spent by both parties are in the millions already, jumping ship isnt easy.

So then what happens if we split from Tesco? Rebuild cost of Goodision is doubled in a years time, 100-200million. Less area's in the city for a site. The council arent going to help with the bridges the club have already burnt.

Where does that leave the building works by Tesco in Kikrby (land buys, sports centre knocked down etc)?

My thought is that we're still going to Kirkby. Its just gonna cost double.

Now, after reading all the doom and gloom merchants for weeks, i am starting to find myself agreeing with them. Goodison was the first purpose built football stadium in the world but i can't see a way to bring it into this century.
We can't afford to build our own world class stadium without outside investment, we couldn't even show we had the means for Kings dock so i think we have now run out of possibilities and are destined to stay in an outdated stadium for the forseeable future, which is already starting to fail simple health and safety inspections and one day will be unable to hold 1st class games

It looks like the only viable option available is to share Prenton Park now:unsure:

:bye::bye::bye:Great news, Everton belong in Liverpool and that's something that should never chance. (y):pint:
Not a dig at you personally "dutch" but its interesting that individuals can leave liverpool to better themselves, but come helll or high water the club can't. strange, and only 500 yards from the border in a place where scouse is the national language, and Everton is the national team.

Moving out of your city is not the the answer in my eyes, never will be. I might be Dutch, but I understand the sentiments of the L'pool Evertonians very well. All but lost my home town club Fortuna Sittard when they moved stadium, from very close to the City Centre to some godforsaken piece of land on the outskirts of city. Everything went downhill from there on, as we lost our heart and soul in that move. :(

Agree, we need a new stadium, or (even better) a major redevelopment of Goodison Park. Moving out of Liverpool, never was, is or will be the answer for me though. It's unbelievable that there are no alternatives to Kirkby and that's the sad part of it.

Well look on the brightside, Liverpool Fans can no longer sing "[Poor language removed] off to kirkby, the city's all ours" :)

Dissappointed though...hope this doesnt affect Moyes

How do you think the club can get a loan that big? Even the club said that 78 million is already stretching it.

Goodison Park, on the other hand, can be developed in phases. Starting with Park End. And why would rebuilding Goodison cost so much more? You do know that the Knowsley site needs to be cleaned as it's an old landfill? That's not cheap.
