Yaaaay.
Anyone who honestly believes that the ground would've been a financial windfall for the club needs to get their head out of their arse. Celtic and Rangers are two of the biggest clubs in Britain, they both regularly get 50,000 plus gates, get in the Champions League most seasons and STILL struggle to shell money out on anything. We would've gained a soulless ground on the outskirts of the city in exchange for one of the last true football grounds in the country. Walking up the streets to get to and from the match; the atmosphere inside knowing that the walls had absorbed over a hundred years of noise. Knowing that whatever had happened to our club has all happened right there. Kendal, Ball, Harvey, Dean, Gray, Labone.
So we can go to the Tesco stadium instead, with 10,000 more seats? No thanks.
Never mind the fact we would never have stopped being reminded that we'd given the city to the [Poor language removed].
