Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

I think Barkley would get selected by Hodgson if he is still the manager. As a squad player.

I remembered Hodgson called up Barkley quite regularly...ok maybe I'm wrong.

Hodgson picked him loads. And all this talk about Everton being ignored by England managers - Jags, Baines, Stones, Lescott, Barkley, Rooney! All got plenty of England caps whilst at Everton.

Even Osman and Rodwell got caps. I can't say one Everton player was hard done to. Hodgson selected Barkley even when his form was utter dross.

Hodgson selected quite a lot of Everton players to be fair. Unlike the pub manager and the current clueless one.

He told Koeman simply that he wants champions league that has been admitted by Koeman on quite a few occasions, that's what has changed, he is simply looking out for his own best interests. Being an Evertonian can't mean that much to him obviously.
That's the party line. Nothing more.

Pretty sure it was the club who have come out and said sign or be sold? Not exactly behind closed doors isit?

Ross said he wants out behind closed doors?

Koeman tells the world?
Barkley has kept it behind closed doors

Suggest you trot off with Ross wherever he goes. Don't Evertonians support Everton and not individual players?

I take it you mean getting into the squad for the world cup mate? TBH I think he'd of helped that cause better if he'd of stayed here. I dont see how being on the Spurs beach will help his claim to a England squad place.
The England Manager picks Jake Livermore in front of him. That tells you everything.

If any single one of the supporters did the Club out of a large sum of money like Ross has done by not signing a contract...would you still consider them Evertonians?

Answered this in another post, when is the right time to want to leave? If he had 2 years left he wouldn't be thinking of his future?!

Supporters have other careers.

Barkley is a professional footballer! He has to think what's best for his career! Doesn't stop he from being an Everton fan!

Leaving isn't the issue. Leaving for nothing would be an issue....especially when he wants a huge salary at the expense of the Club receiving a fee. Personally, I don't believe an Evertonian would do that.

If a club has a bid accepted for him, then he rejects them in favour of a free transfer then yes I would agree its a bad way of leaving on his part and I'd understand the hatred. But if the club get 20/25 million then I see no problem. Personally I think his max value on any market (with 2,3 years left on a contract) is £35 million max. The inflated market puts his value to at least £50 million!

If the papers are to believed he is turning down 120k contract from us to go and play for Spurs for less. I want him gone never to return if true. Lost all respect for him.
