Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

I just don't get his thinking. The Champions League clubs aren't exactly tripping over themselves to sign him (well publically that we know of anyway)

I honestly reckon he'll end up at a West Ham/Stoke. And I reckon he'll be pretty good there aswell.

Was heart broken when Rooney left, not remotely arsed about Ross, just hasn't cut it consistently for us.

Yep, this is nothing even close to Rooney leaving for me either.

You could see Rooney had the world at his feet.

This chump doesn't know his arse from his elbow.

I think Ross knows his position is unattainable here. Ronald Koeman has done this to him subliminally without anybody realising. He has never got on with him since coming to Everton and made a scapegoat out of him last season. He has backed Ross into a corner and made him feel like he has to leave. Koeman is looking to have two or three players in that no. 10 role ahead of him and Ross knows his only way to go is out. Well played Ronald, you have played a blinder.

Can't compare the two mate. Rooney was world class at 23, I'm not sure Ross will ever be world class.

His footballing problems are in his brain and no Pochettino or Wenger will coach his timidity, fragility, and slowness of thought out of him.

Too much fuss hass been made of him, and he would and may indeed still be given short shrift at a club with fans with notably less patience and no emotional attachment.

If he succeeds at a higher placed club, then I'll take my hat off to him but the indications are that this will not happen.

*yawn*

Always the managers fault isn't it.

Agree with this.

When Rooney left I was gutted too but small part of me understood why as we were a mess back then as a club.

Now we are finally appear to be making big progress and he "wants a new challenge " ?????

Wants a new agent and some grey matter more than a challenge

Sad, would've loved to see improve with his but hey ho, such is life.
Get rid now while we might get some money for him.

Think about it, strengthening that position of the pitch but put the contract down on the table anyway, if he says no let him go without a fight. Portray him to the media like it was all his doing. I think Koeman has got what he wanted without looking like a villain

Wasnt bothered either way,but nice to actually know whats really going on now, instead of people guessing,Barkley can be ok at times, but not as good as he thinks he is,but good luck to him if money is what hes going for,and thats what it has sounded or looked like if you believed the offer he turned down,Everton are on the up big time it looks like, and there was no better place to be even more so if he supports Everton
