Koeman: "Barkley looking for a new challenge"

D'you know what mate, if that happened this window I'd hardly bat an eye lid. It'd be a season or so ahead of usual sell on schedule for us, but under the scorched earth player sales policy of Moshiri I suppose it would make perfect sense.

If this is ''the Dutchman'' applying contractual napalm (or Agent Orange) to the dead wood of Martinez's legacy, I'm all for it.
In Barkley's case he had smoke blown up his fundamental orifice for so long he believed the hype. I'm saddened to see Ross go, but if he truly believes his own hype then bon voyage...

Of course you can

How do we know Baines wouldn't have left if Martinez had stayed?
We don't.

We have the facts before us, that is all.

Barkley has rejected a new contract with Everton. Whatever his reasons, that's the decision he's made.

I understand the nuance involved, that his relationship with Koeman is almost certainly a primary factor, but it's still the man that's made the decision to quit Everton.

For that, I can understand why people feel the way they do.

Personally, I'm pretty ambivalent. He doesn't want to be here, then he should go - and I won't miss him.

Hopefully he wont return. As him leaving by running his contract down when we are on the up is very different to Rooney leaving for a huge fee when we were down and out, broke and an embarrassment.
Just been on to my older brother his FF sauce has told him why Ross is going - no fall out with RK its very personal not for me to relate on here ok!

I was really young when Rooney left so don't remember it too much, but Ross leaving is going to hurt.

He may not be as good as he thinks and be a bit of a bell, but he's one of us. This one hurts.

He's not one of us. No one on here who had the chance to play for Everton would give it up. No one would put the club in a position where they would lose money on a sale. He is not one of us, he is a greedy little tit........

Im honestly baffled as to where he thinks he can get regular first team football at a team thats better than us. I cant see him getting in the starting lineup of any top 6 team.

Shame he's gone but not overly arsed because I'm a grown up. I like the kid and hope he fulfills his huge potential wherever he plays.

This kid should NEVER be remembered fondly at GP.

Rooney was castigated by Evertonians for choosing Utd, the trophies, the money etc but the fact that the money we recouped from his transfer helped save us financially was massively underplayed.

He's been offered a fantastic contract by all accounts & we are clearly a club moving in the right direction yet he wants no part of it.

Ross Barkley is dead to me, the ****ed up fool.
This is the bit that gets me. And a boyhood Blue. Can't understand it.
