That's my response to pretty much everything you type on here.

"The club kept it behind closed doors."

FFS, that's about as wrong as wrong can be.
All Koeman said was that Ross needed to sign or be sold, everyone could see his contract was winding down. What where we supposed to do? All the negotiations have been kept quiet and behind closed doors, rather then the club pubically telling everyone all the details.

It doesn't matter anyway. You'd of attacked the club if they'd of said nothing and accused them of being weak and held to ransom. That's what you do on here. Attack the club unceasingly.

Because he wanted to keep it behind closed doors?
Knowing full well that it's impossible to wind down your contract and not have questions asked? He wanted the club to be the bad guys and sell the local lad while he walked away and played the victim. well the club did the right thing and refused to play his snide cowardly game.

Why are you so determined to blame the club and Koeman for this?! Ross is the only person to blame for this situation. Nobody else. Not the fans, not the manager, not the club as a whole just Ross who has done this to himself and backed himself into this corner. He derserves zero sympathy for anyone.

Maybe all the criticism from Koeman last year, the ultimatum etc had made him decide his future is elsewhere. I've previously said on this thread, why did the club leave negotiations on a new deal so late?

I don't see anything wrong in any player wanting a new challenge, it's sad to see a local lad like barkley go but that's life!

He's kept this behind closed doors, he could have not told the club and then left on a free? Or he could have gone public with a transfer request or even threw his toys out the pram and gone on strike but he hasn't! He's just clearly stated to management behind closed doors he's like a new challenge.

He told the club end of the season he wanted to leave? Which was the deadline in which Koeman had given him to sign the deal?!

Yet the club kept saying nothing had changed in regards to the negotiations, but the club already knew of his decision?

The only challange Ross will have at Spurs is earning a place on the bench.

A year is more then enough negotiations time. Just nonsanse to suggest otherwise, you make it sound like we offered him a crap deal a mouth or so his contract expires. Rather then a bumper contract a year before his old deal runs out.

This is all a ruse, Ross is going to sign really but we are delaying it, so all the teams above us think they can get him on the cheap. They then miss out buying anyone else on the pretext they're going to sign Ross, then last minute they have no time to buy anybody else, he signs for us and we win the league

Because they wanted to keep the negotiations BEHIND CLOSED DOORS and try to convince Barkley he was making a massive mistake.

Bravo for Koeman and the club putting him to a decision. He was given a reasonable offer and chose to leave.

Koeman tried to push him to be better. He put him in the best position for him to be good. Tried to push him closer to goal so his complete lack of tackling and toughness wouldn't be exposed. Where his dribbling, passing, and shooting could be leveraged. He STILL wanted to get the ball deep, play like a holding mid, constantly having the ball, completely AGAINST the wishes of his manager.

So F him. The club has bent over backwards for him. Offered him more money than he deserves out of loyalty to his upbringing as a blue. He can for on the bench at Spurs and eventually some second tier team when they figure out he could never be Dembele's replacement and sell him.

On paper yes it would seem like he'd be sat on the bench, but if he goes anywhere spurs would be the best place for him a think poch could be a great manager for him.

Weren't talks planned for him earlier?! Then delayed?(maybe wrong)

Maybe he feels this is the right time in his career to move? Before committing to a new long term contract? Maybe he needs to move to get better?!

Very bitter that, all assumptions on your behalf that.

Let it go.
