Koeman: "We've only spent £7m"

Why are you going there? It'll change next week like it did all last season. First it was we can't score goals...and the. We scored goals. Just went on from there.

This offseason it was how we NEEDED a net spend to get better, yet now it's we've had a massive GROSS spend and Koeman should have us top 4. Absurd.

He got rid of one key player and spent £200mill.

Net spend card doesn't wash for me.

More Ronko excuses early.

Liverpool's bench is poor. Spurs bench is poor.

Both clubs have spent big but have also brought in good players for their starting 11 and got on with it.
Any of those guys lost their 100M striker? How would Tottenham being looking if they lost Harry Kane and didn't replace him? How's Liverpool going to look if they lose Coutinho?

They've already made offers and have a 60M line of credit, so they have the funds to do it whenever. Don't be silly.

Koeman spoke to Giroud on the phone, no?

No ..... just the usual hype to get everyone excited ..... similar last year to Mata Witsel and we got Valencia ......

Not according to the selling club, we reneged on our agreement, in my opinion because no one wants Barklay ...

Dont worry though .......... " Its close " ..............

Spurs - still have a 20 goal a season midfielder and one of the best creative midfielders in the league (also centre back and keeper).

RS - they'll cope perfectly well without Coutinho as they have enough creative midfielders who can do a job. They need a striker and defenders.

And you put "didn't replace him". Well, Koeman had all the Lukaku money and he feels that replacing him isnt a top priority or he would've done it by now.

Yeah mate: we all know how the selection of this data and that data can make Martinez look this way or that way. It's all partial and nonsensical.

The relevant thing (both on that point and for this thread) is that he set a points record here that needs to be at least gotten near to again for us to do well this season and following ones.

He reached a line further forward in that respect than we've ever done and that's what all subsequent Everton managers need to be shooting for to give us a good chance of securing CL football.
Actually, no it's not. Worst home record in the entire history of the club. 11th place finishes back to back. Koeman took a lesser side to 7th and 6th place finishes in the same league at the same time. Those are facts.

His points record that got us 4th deserves credit. If Koeman has a similar trajectory, he gets canned, too.

Those *facts* dont stand up.

If you take the issue to the appropriate thread(s) I'll address it.

First of all, Koeman doesn't replace anyone, so it's not all about Koeman. He has also said clearly that replacing him is a priority in as recent as his last press conference, so you are factually wrong there.

Second of all, of you seriously think Spurs is finishing in a CL spot with Kane or that LFC is doing the same without Coutinho, you are mistaken.

Surely that's down to who you bring in?

Which brings it back to Koeman and who he's brought in.

Dude, you are entitled to your opinions, but not your own facts. You can change the goals posts all you want, but there is this wonderful thing called math.

I'd accept 5th or a cup win.

Anything else has been a huge waste of time, effort and cash.

i think 5th is achievable and a couple of good cup runs would make a nice change.

Spurs at Wembley all season and lack of signings won't help their cause.

Chelsea need to strenghten after loosing Matic, Costa, Terry, Zouma, etc.

7M net spend will soon increase to 57M net spend when Gylfi signs.

Keep the faith .;)

Get the players in that we need, and yeah, pushing for a CL spot is acceptable.
