Look at a video of Kone's Wigan goals 2012/13 on youtube. The lad can finish. He can smash it into the back of the net. Tonight he was just unlucky. We play to his strengths and get him one on one with the goalkeeper and he will score. We have the makings of a good team.

I can say that right now I'll be surprised if he's any better than Saha. Just looks like the type of player who's capable of the sublime but will spend a lot of time frustrating us.

Kone hasn't started brilliantly but he has shown an ability to go past players, so in terms of attributes he's one ahead of Jelavic and Anichebe.

Full debut and we've wrote him off already. Stay classy Evertonians.

To be fair, I wrote him off like four years ago.

To be serious for a minute though, I haven't seen such a half-arsed performance from an Everton player who has just joined and is supposed to be doing his best to impress since Ginola and Gazza were pissing about under Walter Smith.

That header in the second half were he just half jumped and flopped his head at it was horrible..

It was a poor game, we all have them. You didn't see him rip our defence a new one last season? He's too good a striker to write off mate. Just wait and see, we will get our value out of him.

He hardly played during pre-season and he's only had 27 minutes of Premier League action this season, so it's probably too early to judge. His career average is 1 in 3, meaning he should be targetting double figures.

you are being horrible to a player who may end up scoring us lots of goals. he was unlucky tonight. his first chance he could not get a control of, and his second was a 'hit it in the top corner or miss' opportunity. You are being ridiculous to a good decent player.

He wasn't unlucky, he was bloody terrible.

I understand people hoping he'll come good but come on, he was grim tonight. Yes, it's one performance (although he was pure turd in pre-season too) so he may come good, but he's not showing it right now, and as none of us are as gifted in the Mystic Meg department as the Twitter ITKs etc. we can only go on what we're seeing now.

Surely we can go off his career before Everton too or doesn't that count? Or is it easier to start writing our players off after one full game?

The lad can finish. and is a good striker. and he's getting used to the Everton way. He's way above the stakes when it comes to finishing compared to Anichebe or Jelavic. Give him a chance. In a few weeks you will see how he can finish.
