Kone Signs on 3 Year Deal

It really must be on the back of the extra TV cash. People are forgetting that there is an accounting loss to cover, which was 9 million pounds last time round and is likely to have been similar in the last year.

The new TV deal comes in installments, with the guaranteed part coming this Summer, I believe? And the rest coming next Summer, and is dependent on final league placing and TV appearances.

The good news is that we don't need to sell a player, or if we do then 10million of it doesn't have to go towards covering a loss, which SHOULD mean that it all gets spent on squad improvement.

This 9M figure people refer to really gets on my Titt's. Look as a club, and has been the case for years we make a loss of around 4/5M per year. This is mainly due to intrest payments on loans. I can't remember exactly and can't be bothered finding but at the time of the last accounts they explained there was a reason for the jump to 9M, something to do with a player purchase or sale not reflecting properly on the accounts...Anyway point being it would rectify itself and our Loss's still equate to around 4/5M a year.

We don't run as a business loosing 9M every year!

Our loss is caused by expenditure exceeding revenue. It is daft to only blame a particular section of expenditure (interest payments) for our over-expenditure whilst disregarding everything else we spend money on. The loss is just as much caused by interest payments as it is by Johnny Heitinga's wages. Or you could say it is caused by us not generating enough money to match our expenditure.

Either way, the first thing the extra TV money will be used for is covering our loss, whether it be 5 million or 9 million. Which is good news, because this loss is normally covered by player sales.

Or it's just because we have a **** board, which matches, oh.... pretty much every summer of the last 13 years.

I didn't realise that Joe was being sarcy at first, but the difference is that it looks like we actually WILL be signing a player before selling any this year, which is different to previous seasons, and is probably down to the extra TV cash.

Calm down, Calm Down.

We have a board that cares about the longevity of the club, we could do a Pompey - and sure we'll have sucess for a short while, but the future will be bleak.

If he signs, he signs - if he goes to Newcastle/Swansea, then I guess it's his loss.

Move on.

Well yeah fair point, I wasn't really arguing that fact tbh. Just pointing out that we don't run at a 9M loss every year. Of course the first thing the tv money will do is cover whatever the losses may be for whatever reasons, but only having to cover 4/5M which is the figure we lose as rule of thumb is better than 9M and alows more player trading each season.

No we don't. We have a board where the 2nd largest shareholder in the club (with a personal wealth estimated at £150m) can't be arsed to attend an EGM, let alone ANY Everton home games for many years.

We have a board that simply does not invest any money into the club because they claim they don't have any, yet at the same time want an extortionate amount for their shareholding, far exceeding what they originally paid and what the club is currently worth.

'We could do a Pompey' - what, sell to the wrong man? Like a person in a one bedroom bedsit? Like a person who never puts a penny into the club and we continually sell our best players and lose a great manager?

I'm quite calm, it's totally laughable people still come out with this garbage about us having a board that cares.

We have a board that maintains their own selfish position and agenda really well. They certainly don't have any ambition at all and will not take this club any further than it has gone.

This irrational fear of change, 'be careful what you wish for' attitude is what holds Everton back and what keeps the status quo of Kenwright & co. in their place.

No he's right in a sense

The mirror and mail both published online stories last night to say he has undergone a medical. So clearly they know something.

Don't be so quick to jump on someone's back when they are just telling you what's out there.
