KRIOC - Keep Rodwell In Our City

id be seriously p...ed off if he was to go!! i ve said it before we must have more ambtion than to sell our youngsters off at the first oppotunaty ie,ball, dunne jeffers, rooney ok not all have set the world on fire but out of that four 2 our amongst the best in the league at what they do as for rodders who knows where he can get to ability wise hes top notch imo quite possably the next big thing why sell??

I've had my doubts, but I genuinely believe now that Rodwell is staying with us for the foreseeable future. The best guarantee of that is the lad himself. He's grown up with Everton, he's a modest lad with his feet planted firmly on the ground, and all his dreams are connected with playing for Everton. Hell you could see on Saturday how much the result and the goal meant to him.

Moyes has been hard as nails in recent years in hanging on to his key players, and Kenwright has always backed him up in this. With Rooney and Lescott the key thing wasn't the money, it was that the players wanted to leave. There may be a couple of players who we let go in the summer, but there's every reason to think that we'll hold on to Rodwell and turn down big money offers as long as Rodwell is happy to stay.

Let me see..........

Keep Rodwell at Everton and pay him over £50 g's a week, or sell him to the Mancs for £30 mill and buy a striker, a winger, a left back, a replacement midfielder, and a new Mascot suit.......

It's a tough one.

you see this is why you get [Poor language removed] on here mate. Crap like that. It's not about selling a huge asset and spending it on other players. It's about having the ambition to build a side around the best young talent to come out of this club in a long time, even better than Rooney apparently.

What your basically saying is your happy for this club to be a selling club. With fans like you, whats the point?

You really are a total head up ass kind of guy sometimes.

Stop being a ted and let someone's VERY VALID opinion pass without the vitriol.

Well not really mate. You make a point of criticising the club for having no ambition, and for a chairman who is not taking the club further - yet your happy to sanction a sale of a guy who more than likely is going to be more valuable than Wayne Rooney.

The manager himself has said we don't need to sell Rodwell, we don't really need that many more players. It's a young squad by in large, and apart from a freakishly rare injury crisis this squad would have been pushing CL football.

The long term benefits of retaining our talented youth can easily be matched to the rise of Manchester United. If it wasn't for their youth players in the early to mid 90's they would not be a force, simple as that.

If we continue to sell to buy more players then all were doing is treading water, why should we do that?

That is how you should of answered in the first place! Without the barbs!

If Rodwell were to be sold what does that say about the ambition or indeed the aspiration of this club to get right up and there and into the CL.

Strikes me that it would makes us the perennial tried hard but never had the little extra.

yeah I know, I know. And I apologise, no offence was intended BB. I'm not after people to agree with me, but responses that are flippent do my head in.

I prefer a more structured reply such as why we should sell him, and what benefits it will give the club in the long term. Stuff like that.

At the end of the day it's about time people started to look at the big picture instead of thinking about the short term benefits.

Tortoise and the Hare is a classic example. We need to keep doing what we are doing and we will reap the benefits, but selling our best players is not what we should be doing.
