if he had funds available for both windows he could very well spend, not his fault he has to save what he has made from sales for the summer

your the sort of guy mate who would blame moyes, Martinez, *insert next 5 managers names* for failing to bring in transfers/get top 4 whilst ignoring the 1 common denominator lurking over all of them like a bad smell whilst investing nought in the club.

You're that obsessed with pinning everything on the board your post totally contradicts your argument. There are numerous other players that Martinez could have went for but choose to go for a player that is injured, its that simple.

And, errrr the bottom part of post is pathetic, i wouldn't blame the manager for failing to bring transfers; however, if there is blame to be laid for signing a striker who is injured, then it falls straight to Martinez.

Really think that ship has sailed already. I can't see us anywhere near 4th from no on. Maybe we'll get a good cup run or finish high enough to get into the Europa league. Big ask of course, be should we win that we'd automatically qualify for CL the following season.

Has this rule been recently introduced or something?

You've got to be kidding right? Win the derby and we'll be in pole position. Just need a striker to give us a boost, need it now though IMO.

yes, effective next year Europa league winners get a spot in the CL qualifying stages(i think thats where they are put).

I'd like to know why he hasnt gone back for that Fernando player from Porto. 6months left on his contract and a pretty ace player. Instead he goes after a player who wont be available for another 5-6 weeks.

We're one point out of 4th place. The ship's still on the dock.

agree with what your saying but for all we know their might not be any other decent striker available for loan, and if that's the case and he wants whatever funds he has for the summer to push for lukaku or whoever he wants then whats stopping the board stumping up a bit of cash out their own pockets to bring in a cheap striking cover? Kenwright, Earle, Granchester and Woods offer nothing in the transfer window they are the Leon Osman of shareholders.
