Lacina Traore

Various sources are reporting we will sign Lacina Traore on loan. Most of the articles are stating it with a fair amount of certainty as opposed to the usual speculation. Looks like this one is going to happen.

One thing in particular they mention is that Traore wants to come here instead of relegation battling West Ham. Hopefully his hamstring injury is not too severe. Looking at the bright side though, that injury was probably a key point in us acquiring him. It sounds like West Ham only delayed because they're worried about the injury. Their indecision gave us the time to maneuver.

What a glory hunter. Don't want him.

Nice one though mate, nice summary.

Not easy playing the 'lone' striker role and Lukaku has finished some games gulping for air, he'd get game time here in the last 20 minutes, he'd look a frightening prospect for defenders.

Clubs prepared to pay a lot of dosh for him so he's rated but that's no guarantee he will be good for us.
Still, nothing ventured an' all that!
Would prefer a permanent signing, but maybe Martinez is just using him til the summer then putting all our cash towards Lukaku on a permanent deal?

....probably a stop-gap, but he looks like he can certainly make an impact. Much more a RM type, strong and powerful who leads the line rather than a sniffer. Shame he might have a hammy, skinny blokes don't normally suffer with them too much so lets hope we can get him in and he's available soon. Will be a very good option.

This is going to be used as a qualifier for anything he does ever, isnt it?

And Traore only puts away one weetabix for breakfast, a huge surprise especially for his height.

But just look how much better our 'stop gap' loan signings are getting. I can't see us ever signing a Straq or a Castillo ever again.

On behalf of those of us who are not afflicted by the Napoleon complex and frankly don't care if the bloke in front stands up as we can still see over him, I'd like to add my tuppence:

by technique do you assume 'ball at feet, stepovers, dribbling and the like'. There's a lot of technique involved in receiving a 50 yard punt, trapping it / laying it off / holding it up/ knock on. Also remember one of our most beloved big fellas, Duncan, was very adept with ball at feet, both feet.

Erm ok mate, it was a sarcastic comment aimed at people who say that when it's got no truth but if you're feeling angry on behalf of tall people and would like to accuse me of having more complexes go for it x

Just watched a compliation of his goals and didn't see him score one header. Six foot eight you say?

Get him in and get Duncan on his case.

He also done absolutely nothing with his right foot. In fact I think all the goals in that video were scored with his left. But then again my childhood hero was Sheedy so I'm not going to hold that against him!
