We're pretty threadbare at the moment, but hopefully this is the nadir. As we get bodies back, and hopefully land Traore, I fancy our chances of a late surge. Fully fit, the squad is decent. Better than it has been for quite some time.
Do you read the Mail?Good decision, mate. You can't beat the thought police, y'know! (Not much you can do or say these days without inviting the self-appointed moral crusaders to sit in judgement on you......)
I miss Gerard Deulofeu like the deserts miss the rain. But the key there is 'as we get bodies back', the likeliness is that when Deulofeu/Barkley/Pienaar come back etc, players like Lukaku, Mirallas, Coleman will get injured. I feel as though about 3 permanent signings are needed to get the squad numbers close to a team able to challenge.
Why? I'm not taking the mick out of people with cleft palates FFS, I'm just saying it's like throwing stones in glass houses.
Lighten up.

Why on earth are people surprised that Traore will be our last January signing if it happens???
Do none of you ever listen to what Martinez says? He has repeatedly said that he was unlikely to sign anyone permanently in January because there is no value in it. If we signed anyone, it would be on loan. We have room for one loan left.
As for the squad depth, a few games ago when we were surviving well without Baines, Jags, Distin etc, people were talking about how we finally had squad depth and how we could survive the loss of such key players.
We DRAW a game (not lose - 2 defeats all season, imagine the crying if we'd lost more games!), and sell a striker that had not scored in his last 700 minutes of Permier League football (now 790 minutes, playing for Hull), and people start preparing the razor blades.
If Traore goes through, we'll have replaced Jelavic, and we'll have brought in McGeady (that one permamently, for loan-haters) so the squad will be bigger than it was at the start of the window. Nobody key is getting sold either. Even if Heitinga goes, he's 5th choice, it's no loss.
I can't believe some of the negativity from certain people on here and on other EFC boards. Everyone just chill out, we're doing just fine, within the REALISTIC realm of what we can achieve.

If you don't like the Mail, The Mirror, The Express or The Sun you might like The Guardian then. Here is an article which talks about why verbal abuse should be challenged since it is the feeding ground for worse things. I expect you won't bother to read the article but here is an extract which is highly relevant to you,Not if I can help it, Gwladys. Because I'm an advocate of free speech and independent thought, which is why I also have a problem when people wade in unnecessarily with sanctimonious 'corrections' on what people say. And, since you're interested in my newspaper choices, I also dislike the Express and Mirror, and have been vehemently anti-Sun since you-know-when. (PS: I'm just a simple grammar Nazi, and only pounce on those who don't know their 'there' from 'they're' or their 'your' from 'you're'....but I really have no time for political correctness and telling people what and how to think, especially on an Everton fans' forum.)
You're welcome!
An excuse of free speech doesn't work here either. Hate speech isn't free speech when it locks others into a prison of stereotyping and perpetrates abuse.
But Martinez also said that we wouldn't be signing Mcgeady until the Summer. You can't go off what a manager says to the media regarding transfers, it's all a game.
I'd personally bet we'll get another player in after Traore.
