I have to respond to your little tirade here Bill, by saying that you seem quite upset about an absolute hometruth. Have you ever looked at our net spend per season...what am I saying Bill, of course you have...you've sanctioned it...

Dave has every right to question what the hell is going on...where is the money disappearing to, why are we AT LEAST not spending what we receive, and yes...YOU ARE CORRECT...it has been the same for years...

Fred ,Dave questions it on Every thread,Fred,There are 100´s of threads and threads on the subject ,Fred,It´s got nothing to do with this thread .Fred. Theres still a week of the transfer window left . Fred. Just wish people could stop Moaning .Fred.

Read back, I haven't said anything of the sort. if you are not intelligent enough to debate something without coming out with such nonsense, stay out of it.

Back on topic, let's hope he signs ASAP.

But by defending people who have you jump in the same boat . Tarred with the same brush and wheres the nonsense? The only nonsense I see is the negative drivvel spouted thread after thread after thread.

Maybe we ought to have a bickering thread set up where all such argumentative posts could be diverted? Maybe then, those of us who want to read about the subject in hand won't have to trawl through all the handbags-at-dawn stuff.

Or shed loads of the clubs doomed we are getting stiffed . Though as it is on nearly every thread it may be hard work. Back to the Subject Robbos just been quoted as being optimistic. Anyone remember that word?

Our "other operating costs" as a percentage of turnover are roughly on par with those of our rivals (Liverpool's are twice as much, for example). Click here to read more. The time to judge Kenwright is after the summer window (Martinez is on record saying he doesn't see value in the January window). The thread to do it in is here.

Right, on to Traore: we're waiting on Monaco to confirm they're still up for it after Falcao's injury. We really could do with a solid link to another striker, I wouldn't like us to come across as desperate.

Martinez is just like the rest of us, if the money is available now, he's going to want to spend it. He's not daft, he sees what's at stake. Now it could be that he's simply playing it cool and I for one am willing to wait until the window closes, but if it closes without significant re-investment of the monies recouped from player sales then that is nothing short of criminal.

It's not looking good is it? I mean, if you're actively searching in the market then you would have to put feelers out with agents as to type of players and price range etc. So far it seems we are in the market for frees, loans and maybe one circa 8m transfer.

Again, we could be playing it cool and have something else lined up, so it's wait and see.

"I think it would go down to what the player needs in his development and I hope that (Falcao's injury) would have no bearing on the decision.

"We are really far down the line and it would be a real disappointment not to compete it, so we will see what today brings"

Its ONOFF?!

Doesn't sound great.

No, it isn't. It's January 23rd. We've had over three weeks to add to squad numbers and haven't. With all the fuss over a cup game and the derby in the next week to distract everyone, I'm guessing our owners are sitting there right now with a big grin on their faces having made a tidy profit as it stands of about 6.5M.

It appears that Falcao is out for the rest of the season with this CL injury. Means Monaco are one striker less so naturally they are holding back. If it was us in that same situation we would hang on as well. While Monaco decide on this the end of the window gets closer, cutting it fine I think.
