In all fairness fellas whether you agree with eachothers comments is irrelevant as its personal opinion. Having a go at eachother won't change minds. Live and let live!

Wow. So even though we have 9 first teamers injured, we've got people holding Moyes to the fire regarding what he said about his transfer policy BEFORE all the injuries.

This is getting beyond farcial...

Well [Poor language removed]. Then I guess you wrote of Howard, Dempsey, Reyna, and every other USA player who played in the unproven MLS before they came over huh?

Or is this one somehow different?

Do they have to have played in a big league to be able to help us? Does his international pedigree and accomplishments count for nothing?

To justify a short term holiday, yes. A player should have the experience. See Beckham.

Name another Premiership side who have gave a ten week playing contract to a player aged over 25.

Cant?

Didn't think so. Theres a reason why.

GOT's just seems more pissed off that its just 10 weeks. Especially when Moyes takes his time to bed players in, Donovan has to hit the ground running.

But then Donovan isnt playing for a move so he may not give his all in the limited time.

My point exactly. 10 weeks with no view to permanent.

Its a 10 week holiday lads. I'm as blindly optimistic as anyone - but this one strikes me as daft.

No one is saying he maybnot have something to offer, that said he has a lot to prove.

Its the context of the deal, 10 weeks, big ifs over adjustments, no future signing, there is just no long term progression in any of this and thats what we should be looking at.

Like that's going to happen.

We wont be able to keep Pienaar in the summer never mind bringing in anyone else for long term progression.

Odd no one has yet admitted that our injury situation plus ANC has pretty much forced Moyes' hand in the deal. This is perfect stopgap situation where we aren't forking over another 5-10M in the January transfer window for cover.

He sure did. Link me where he said that mate, just so I can be sure.

Its not the best, but he failed miserably there. They wouldn't even extend his loan - saying they prefer squad fillers to be young with perspective. Which is my point. Because he didn't make an impression in the Bundesliga, do you consider that he's not good enough to play for us?

There will be plenty of players out there with experience who we could bring in on loan with a view to a permanent move. Who, like Jo? Sol Campbell?

I thought he would be decent

Will the transfer benefit Everton in the long term? No. He's just signed a new contract and is scared of leaving America. In the predicament were in now, we need short term cover until the big players are back and performing and the ANC is finished.

So, will the transfer benefit Everton in the short term? Maybe. Who's to know? I doubt it though, given that he has never performed in decent league. He's performed in internationals which is a pretty high stage.

Seems trivial to me, we shouldn't be bringing players in for 10 weeks with no intention to make the move permanent. Thats my issue.

races the rook down the line*

Im behind him coming. The clubs isnt in a position to really pick and choose or barter terms and lengths of loans extra. We've no weight or money for player transfers.

We wont get anything better than this in January. FACT.

We could conceivably be getting a player that wants to prove he can play with the big boys, has a chip on his shoulder, wants to go back to his league in great form, and be ready for the World Cup.

So what if we only get him 3 months, he could be a perfect storm for us especially considering our entire team is hurt.

Oi oi, we'll have none of that around here young lady! :o

Maybe, but it's not the reason you're trying to suggest.

We don't need him permanently, we need him for about, i dunno, 10-12 weeks, say 3 months. Oh wait....
