Last Film You Watched

Just watched this on Amazon Prime.

Really enjoyed it. Perhaps not much different to any other film about individuals fighting the system but if you have a healthy disregard for anyone who puts themselves "in charge" then this is food for the soul...

All of this talk of sci-Fi makes me want to watch Silent Running again, my all time favourite. The big picture of man v environment, a man who puts the survival of earth above the demands of corporations. Add to that robots with personality years before star wars, an iconic ship* and music by Joan Baez. A stunning film which was very formative to me when I first saw it as a teen.

*film nerd fact - the ship model was later used as part of the armada of the original battle star galactica.

Pop quiz - what is the ship called?
Valley Forge, I've got the T-shirt:

Named after the aircraft carrier it was filmed on ;)

Just watched - World War Z for the second time around.

I remember being disappointed when I saw it in the cinema.

It`s not actually a bad film for a genre that has been done to death.
Having read the book,I was made up when I heard it was getting made into a film, went to see it in the day of release and was so disappointed by it,its not a bad film,it just doesnt do the novel any justice what so ever

Read the book and you'll see how awful it is.
The author actually released a statement on his official website apologising to fans for what the film turned into.
It's literally a generic zombie movie where Brad Pitt saves the day

Security- 7/10
Think diehard in a shopping mall, nice and easy popcorn movie, made worthwhile due to Antonio banderas and the awesome sir Ben Kingsley.

Tears of the sun- 9/10 (extended version gets full marks from me)
Awesome movie , with just the right amount of emotion and contextual awareness, how is this 15 years old already!!!!!!

I read the book many years ago and I do agree that the film isn`t a patch on the book, which is why I was so disappointed when I watched it first time around.

However if you forget about the book and just take the film on face value, it`s not a bad film.

Sequel due out next year.

Fair point, if it was called anything else I probably wouldn't mint it tbh

‘Selfie from Hell’ from off of the Netflixes.

Terrible. Thought it would be so bad it was good, and it did have potential - awful acting, hilariously bad dialogue, nonsensical plot - but ultimately too boring to be a good, bad movie.

Another little gem from the Horror Channel - Rupture.

A single mum is kidnapped by a shadowy organisation and tortured, seemingly for no reason.

A real head bender, quite disturbing, but slightly let down by the ending.

I also find Noome Rapace strangely attractive.
