Last Film You Watched

I've been planning to watch Der Himmel über Berlin (Wings of Desire, Wim Wenders film) for at least 10 years now and finally got round to it.

Pros:

- some of the best camera work, compositions and black/white stock i've ever seen
- fascinating if you're a Berliner...loads of shots of areas both familiar and utterly transformed
- loving calm vibes, replete with Bruno Ganz's iconic longing gaze (Ganz...he of the Hitler meme)
- film as moving poem...if you're in the mood, very German-expressionist
- Blixa Bargeld spotted! And Nick Cave...

Cons:

- i honestly thought it would've benefitted from more cohesive characters & plot
- Peter Falk playing himself felt a bit in-jokery
- the coming together at the bar of the 'fallen' angel & the dancer was too poetic as to be almost laughable

7/10 i think is fair, so a good film on balance, but only recommended for fans of arty cinema.

Great film. I remember getting the train to Manchester when it came out , there wasn't anywhere showing it in Liverpool at the time.

The Meg. Switched from being bad to hilarious (intentionally, at least sometimes) to hilariously bad throughout the film. And God the acting and dialogue was so bad and utterly cringeworthy at times (not unexpected tbf). Statham is fun, tho. Actually enjoyed the film for its sillyness. 4/10

Film4 tonight is an animated prequel to this film, decent watch for animation

Watched the prequel to the Train to Busan last night : Seoul Station.

It was very good, but I thought the Train to Busan was better.

The animation devoted too much time to ramming societies attitude to the homeless down your throat tbh.

Yeah I prefer Busan, just thought Seoul might be of interest to you as the prequel to it,a lot of Asian anime does tend to have social messages to it

If you like a bit of Asian horror Shutter or a tale of 2 sisters is a decent watch,I have been watching a few of them lately before Hollywood manage to mess them up
