Superb film mate, one of my favourites. If you get a chance, watch the Living Dead at Manchester Morgue (1974). One of my all time favourites, less humour than Dawn of the dead which nailed it but still a quality zombie film
Let sleeping corpses lie.
Yup just found it on youtube, watching now...fab music so far and the accents .......wow. cheers for the recco, im going to love this.

Yeah sorry mate that's its original title. I managed to get it on betamax a very (very)long time ago and it was called living dead at Manchester Morgue.

Cant believe I hadnt seen what must have been pretty influential for the genre. I loved it, plenty of edge of the seat bits, especially the church crypt part. The ending was good, quite different back then wernt they lollol. I would say that anyone at all into zombie flicks has to check it out. Well in Macca.
I was being flippant towards it after that ending. If it had stopped before the
ridiculous shootout
then I would have said it was really building up to something, despite some
deeply unanswered questions
it was a well made first third and I was hoping the
deeply unanswered questions
would be answered. But then after that scene
the bit where he stabs the guy in the head who fixes him up them suprise surise dobs him into the cops because 'I got bad addictions man I'm in trouble'
just played out like they'd sucked all the ideas out of the story and spent them on
silly squib hits and head stabbing
then the movie would have had a safisfying conclusion, no matter how ambiguous. When we got up to
where the copper - I think he was trying to have kids with his wife and then he just get killed for no reason at all

Yeah it plays out like it’s building towards something which doesn’t really come. But all the clues are in there regarding people’s motivations etc.
Its’s definitely meant to be vague and ambiguous, and totally get why people will hate it. Not a patch on the directors’ other films. But still liked the tone and look of it.
a good opportunity then to re-recommend underrated or little-known modern horror classics:
Open Water (no supernatural but what blank horror!)
Taking of Deborah Logan (proper, anticipation, atmosphere, no cheapo jump scares or false alarms)
REC 1 & 2 (must-watch in original Spanish with subs)

This is out on Sky. Unlikely to be anyone's favourite film but I found it entertaining enough. You get the impression that the cast enjoyed making it. It has its dark undertones as well as trying to give positive messages. If you like the "High School misfit from a dysfunctional family who turns out to have more sense than all the others put together" sort of story then you'll probably like this.

Was bored so watched Full Metal Jacket. Not seen it for about 30 years(sh1t I am old). Anyway, like a lot of those Nam films, a good watch, proper boys films.
