Last Film You Watched

That was an era of great films, mainly of religious undertones. I'm not the most religious of people but to this day I love films like The Robe, Demetrius and the Gladiators, Quo Vadis, Spartacus, The Ten Commandements, Barrabas, The Greatest Story Ever Told, The Vikings, Anthony and Cleopatra, mainly starring Charlton Heston as the star and Tony Curtis. A great period for film making and those films are part of the reason why i'm doing a history degree at the moment.
I agree. I was brought up on them by my Mum. Whilst I am not religious at all (understatement) these are still some of the best films ever made. You are just missing Ben Hur !

Ben Hur without doubt in my top 10 of ever.

We just got back from Wreck it Ralph, and with the CGI Films quality seemingly on the wane, it was quite fantastic.

I'd give it 4 out of 5. More a Pixar film than Disney Studios (thank you John Lasseter) and definitely one for the collection.

*almost forgot - I thought the short 'Paperman' was actually gob-smackingly good. The technique they used in that was probably the best quality animation I've ever seen, and it was a really moving little film as well.

MY TOP TEN CGI FILMS

1. The Incredibles
2. Shrek 2
3. Rango
4. Wreck It Ralph
5. Ratatouille
6. Megamind
7. Madagascar 2
8. Kung Fu Panda
9. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
10. Bee Movie

Lawless. Was properly brilliant.

I watched this last night, and I don't know if I really enjoyed it. LeBouf was actually pretty good, Tom Hardy just mumbles his way through everything, and i just didn't understand his character. Was he a bad arse or a philosopher? Both? Lots of Aussies in it, directed by an John Hillcoat (The Road) and written by Nick Cave (Bad Ass Musician), I was expecting a little more. It feels like they have cut alot out, apparently there were lots more scenes and it feels like it. I have no idea why they think they can make a 4 hour movie into two and not have it feel like its stop/starty. A cliched script, and criminal under-use of Gary Oldman, the second best actor of his generation behind Day-Lewis. Guy Pierce is great as the slimy Government Agent..I really wanted this to be great, because they made 'The Proposition' together too.

Enjoyed "The Watch" the other day. Not brilliant but quite funny

I saw it a couple of weeks ago, and I don't think I laughed once. I really wanted to punch Jonah Hill in the face, and have the back of his head smack into Vince Vaughn, who in turn back-tups Ben Stiller in his face. The other guy Ayode was just cashing a check and I can understand that, so I won't hold it against him.
