Mary Poppins.

Everyone here does a pretty good job of it and its a fairly enjoyable, if completely unnecessary sequel.

Emily Blunt though. Probably the best actress going atm.

A few films:

Eighth Grade

I have never been a girl in 8th grade in the age of social media but I can imagine this is what it would be like. Very good. 8/10

A Simple Favor

Started well, good idea with a good cast but the last 30 mins or so spoilt it. Too much going on. 6/10

Colette

Brilliant, very early contender for film of the year. 9/10 (at the moment)

The Miseducation of Cameron Post

Very good, film flew by at only 90 mins long. 8/10

Available on Amazon Prime and based on the novel of the same name. The usual things happened during the war and it made some people sad. Other things happened since which made them a bit happier. A nice film about not nice events...

Green Book - Very good - 8.5 out of 10
Bird Box - pretty dumb concept but passed the time at least - 5.5 out of 10

Ready player one

Great nerdy film. 5/5

Thought it was woeful, just unbelievably lazy and reliant purely on CGI and token nostalgia which nerds can wet themselves over. I remember people saying 'its not just CGI, its deep and got a message'... shame that message was literally the most generic and obvious message one could imagine for a film about virtual reality.

'spend more time in real life rather than in virtual reality man'

so deep...

3 out of 10 for me, everything I hate about modern cinema rolled into one giant hamfest.

I may be exaggerating a little for dramatic effect here FYI...

Das Boot.

Still incredible. I first saw it as a 6 part mini series in the mid 80's, the "mini series' was pretty much the directors cut. The film is a more manageable 2.5 hrs to the series 5.

Can't be many better WW2 films.

(quick Google shows me their is now a sequel, I bet its rubbish)
Love that film, the tension it holds is great, being on those UBoats during the war must of been heavy going.
Can't imagine what it must of been like to of been on one that sunk and your stuck down there knowing there's nothing you can do, that's your tomb.

That was the thing for me about the series. They had long segments of no dialogue. Just shots of terrified faces as the destroyer was going back and forth depth charging them for what seems like hours.

Powerful viewing.
