Early 20’s?

Looking on IMDB, quite a few 1/10’s then 7-9/10’s. Reviews seem to be slightly critical of some of the delivery of her being a woman, and be oversentimental about the era, but praises the acting, special effects and action.

Over sentimental about the era?

Uh oh. Might be my favourite ever movie already.

O yeah finally got around to seeing The Favourite, went the cinema in New Brighton to see it, great film, I thought Emma Stone was brilliant in it. Also the use of a fisheye lense to show the settings was good and the minimal lighting at times. The ending i liked as it left you wondering what happened next, like this wasnt the end of the full story...etc great film, defo IMO one to see at the cinema, not sure id bother at home on a small TV as i dont think it would do justice to the locations.

11% on Rotten Tomatoes. I don't always agree with RT reviews, but 11% is awfully low.
Rotten Tomatoes is an utter embarrassment and shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone. According to Rotten Tomatoes, Thor Ragnarok is better then The Shawshank Redemption.......

Now once you've stopped laughing at the sheer absurdity of that just take a second to think about if you can ever take the views of such a site seriously again, because I can't!

My goodness. As I said I don't always agree with their reviews, the example you share being a perfect example, but I feel like they generally are pointed in the right direction. I haven't seen Thor, so I can't comment on that film. Shawshank is one of my all time favorites though, and at 91% it's clearly rated very high.

Now if the site had Shawshank at 60% or something, then I could understand not giving the site any credibility.

I rate IMDB’s review score more than Rotten Tomatoes personally.

However I take both with a pinch of salt since they both shanked Repo Men and I bloody loved that film.

RT collates reviews, it doesn't review films itself. The % is the % of reviews that give the film a 3 out of 5 (or the equivalent).

Older films tend to be very scewed as it doesn't collate the reviews at the time of original release, but retrospective review say if the Blu-ray is released. As these are automatically collated, this would include reviews of the remastered or Blu-ray package itself and not always the film.

I see. Thanks. I still think it gets films right most of the time in terms of a high percent usually equals a good film and vice versa.
