Was surprised at how good this was. It’s story is well worn territory, but it moves a long at a great pace and is a great 90 minute genre movie. It’s a shame Gibson has been “cancelled”. I know it’s his own fault, but I do think he has a lot to offer. Would love to see him as an aged Mad Max one last time. Has way more heart and screen presence than Tom hardy did.
He's a fantastic actor it's as simple as that.

This is one of his better recent movies too.

Good stuff? He directed Hacksaw Ridge the same year he appeared in blood father and since then I’d say the only good thing he’s done is dragged across concrete- perfect casting in that. I really don’t count stuff like Daddy’s Home 2 as a sign of a career renaissance. His filmography isn’t exactly stacked in the last few years. Although perhaps Hollywood will lap up his upcoming sequel to Passion of the Christ and in true Christian spirit all will be forgiven.

He’s been pretty busy behind the scenes and i think has a couple of things coming out, plus he was supposed to be shooting some huge war movie but it fell over. Quick look at IMDB and he’s attached to 8 different projects there.

Watched Lone Survivor last night for the first time, great film, so much tension and its quite a powerful story really, at the end they show photos of the actual soldiers who got killed, true story, which is quite moving.
Great soundtrack as well from Explosions In The Sky.

The part where they are trying to reach the ridge and realise its a false summit, that's a killer on your legs that, anyone who has ever done a lot of hiking in mountains will get this.
I knew the guys in that. I was stationed at SDVT-1 when this all went down (and 5 of the guys killed were from our team). The 'Lone Survivor' (Marcus Luttrell) makes a cameo as one of the SEALs in the QRF that was killed.

Fun fact about Marcus, him and his brother Morgan were both SEALs at our team and they each had half of the trident tattooed across their back, so that when they stood together they completed the trident.

The book is excellent.

Possibly one of the best I’ve read of its kind.

He’s obviously a bright guy, as well as everything else and that shines out in the book.

Very emotional at the end too.

It's got a 12 certificate and, to be fair to it, is a movie probably aimed at this age group. A girl moves with her father to Nowheresville and, as there are no vampires, there clearly have to be ghosts. Some genuinely scary moments which adds something different to the usual problems of starting a new school in a new place...

Not too bad actually
They have a series on Netflix by the same name. Wahlberg produces it. Better than expected (like the film)
