Last Film You Watched

Saw Terminator - Dark Fate

First 10 mins EXCELLENT, proper Terminator action - fast, to the point and nail biting.

From them on it just comes across as a carbon copy of T2 but without the originally aka it's been done.

Arnie is pointless but Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) was excellent.

It's very much a meh movie

For Sama

A documentary about a mother giving birth to her child in Aleppo and following the mum in a space of five years. It was on Ch4 the other night so prob on 4OD.

Don't even know where to start on the thoughts of this one. The footage of hospitals being bombed is vile, how the doctors just carry on..

Did go and see that Countdown last night, was ok, defo not one for those who have seen a lot of horror as there were a lot of over used film tropes and cliches, was ok like, think its aimed at 16 year olds to be honest as there seemed a lot in the theatre.

Joker

It was ok.

Expected to love it or hate it.

It just seemed to chuck most of the recent themes into it without really going anywhere and thought it was more a much more deeper film than it actually was. There was no nuance or subtlety at all.

There are loads of films like this outside Hollywood which are done miles better

All that being said, I did enjoy some scenes.

The score and cinematography saved it as they both had some great moments.

The direction was pretty poor, the steps part was terrible and the bit of the chat show where the director obviously trying to defend the Hangover series was really embarrassing.

I can see both sides with the mental health issue, it was exploitive but fame does exploit mental health.

I was just a bit disappointed I don't have a strong reaction either way. Some bits were even a bit boring.

6.5/10

Defending the hangover series? Lost me...

Defending the hangover series? Lost me...

The director has had quite a bit of criticism about this objectification of women in his past comedies and the part where joker is saying how different people find different things funny whilst looking directly at the camera. This seemed, to me, as though it was the director talking through the character to the audience.

Watched Us there. Started off brilliantly, first half of the film was some of the best horror I've seen in years. Felt like it switched tone almost completely halfway through and kind of lost its way. Was good overall, could have been brilliant
